I'm a 57 year old male andI've had Rosacea for over 10 years. I had been treated very successfully with tetracycline (500 mg twice daily)for a long time, but my doctor explained the need to get off the antibiotic eventually. Since I turned 55, I've been plague with a few spots of rosacea on my face. Dermatologists has given me MetroGel and other creams to try, but Avar-e cream was the best for my condition. Within the next day of treatment, I saw results. Just wish it didn't cost so much!!

Prescribed for perioral dermatitis. Told to discontinue use of steroid cream and prescribed doxycycline and avar e. The dermatitis worsened as warned and the avar e seemed to do nothing positive or negative for the condition.

I have been using this product for half year. I personally prefer the gel instead of the cream.

I'm a 57 year old male andI've had Rosacea for over 10 years. I had been treated very successfully with tetracycline (500 mg twice daily)for a long time, but my doctor explained the need to get off the antibiotic eventually. In addition, the tetracycline was losing it's effectiveness as indicated by pimples and redness.I started taking a reduced dose of tetrecycline (500 mg once daily) along with applying Metrogel (1%) twice daily. This had very little impact on my Rosacea. Eventually, I started using Finacea im place of the Metrogel. This also failed to control my Rosacea. This change in treatment had been going on for over a year when I was switched to AVAR-E twice daily while continuing with the reduced tetracycline. The result were fantastic. Within several days, I could see positive results. After several weeks, the result were dramatic. Now, after taking AVAR-E for 7 weeks, my Rosacea is virtually gone. There is very little noticable redness and no pimples at all. Over the last 2 weeks, I have switched from tetracycline to doxycycline (20 mg twice daily) and my face is still completely clearRead More Read Less

My doctor put me on Avar-e emollient cream because I'm allergic to salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, the other most common acne medications. It was a little slow to work at first, but once it kicked in it worked great. I have now been using it for three or four years, and it still works for me. I love it! :) The only drawback I have found is that it can be difficult to find sometimes. Walgreen's has been the best so far for me.

I had been using another ointment, which didn't help much at all. Since using AVAR-e I only have had to use it a few times. Now I find my pharmacy Walgreen's apparently can't get it, they said they would get me something else to use that is like this drug.
