I don't like the side effects (constipation, achey muscles) but I'll put up with them because Vytorin works.

I just started with Vytorin 10 days ago, so I don't know what the results will be. But I am ready to throw it away; I have developed a horrible metalic taste in my mouth. It is so distracting, not only does it affect my appetite, but I spend the better part of the day trying to find ways to get rid of this taste. This, combined with a new allergy med have also created a very tired feeling, that...

Lipitor and Zocor [by itself] did not work at lower doses. At higher doses, I had muscle pain and reflux. Vytorin worked to bring everything well within limits. No pain, no reflux.

It has reduced my bad cholestrol to under 100...I have had some sensitivity in my right knee and some tenderness in my legs (muscles) which I am not sure if it is from taking this medication? My blood test for liver function are normal.

After 3 months use developed severe stomach and chest pains. Cardiac tests came back clean, but upper GI test showed severe inflammation. Replaced drug with Zocor (which is that same drug without Zetia in it) and stomach inflamation and resulting pain resolved themselves in a few days.

I had great success with this drug, whch after using zyclor for some years cholesteral level was at a standsill, in the high 200's. after using vytorin for a year, my levels came down to 170 However, after my second year I went up about 20 points on my scheduled recheck August 29. That same day I was tested I had a viserol hemmorage in my left eye. I was told by 5 different doctors (Loma Linda University Hosptal eye clnic and various other websites, that even though vytorin says can cause vision changes or vision blurriness, vytorin did not cause my eye problem. It is a mechanical problem that can happen to anyone getting older (I'm only 57.) I had numerous eye floaters all of a sudden with flashes of light and the next day it continued with a gray film added to the problem. I went to emergency room/ eye doctor who said I had a tear and hole in my retina. the next day had a freeze dry procedure and now my vision is good. my pharmacists said he has seen no record of vytorin causing retinal problems, but that he could not guaarantee it. I quit vytorin I am going to try using natural means, Q 10 enzyme, red rice yeast and niacin. I am good in the wieght dept and diet but not at exercising whch I need to add to my routine.
