My husband was 38 years old and committed suicide from taking Ativan. It was taken in combination with Welbutrin for depression. Do not take these two together..the ativan made him have body tremors, nervousness, and horrible suicidal thoughts. Do not take Ativan and you become addicted within one month. He was taking it for three months and couldn't handle life anymore.

You've failed to add seizures as a use for this drug. Since ativan is the primary drug used to treat major seizures, I asked my neurologist if I could take it to prevent aura's and "breakthough seizures" from progessing to grand mals. It works.. but only the brand name ativan is prescribed since it dissolves most quickly sublingually. Generic lorazapam takes too long, and recirculates too much leaving a bad "hangover" effect then next day. PLEASE educate docs about this use! Too many epilepsy patients are left seizuring ending up in ER's or with "nuked neurons" when parents and patients can intervene on the spotRead More Read Less

the perfect drug for any kind of panic attack and I've had them all! Take a pill when you have an attack and it melts away.

I took antivan for a panic disorder after the birth of my daughter. I guess it came along with postpartum depression.

This medication works and is very easy to use. The only problem I have is that if I don't take it my anxiety worsens. This pill is very addictive and should be monitored closely.

I was prescribed this drug, to help control my panic attacks, and help to 'calm' my mood. Overall, I feel this drug did what it was prescribed for.
