I know someone that gives this to an infant starting at approximately 2 months old to help him sleep at night and calm him down on a regular basis and i need to know what could be the long term effects of this. Mother quit giving it to infant about a month ago because she said he went wacky on her so now she gives him motrin on a regular basis.

I was curious as to what the previous poster meant by "went wacky". My 20-month old took the infant drops for a fever, and after the fever dropped below 100, he had uncontrollable shaking spasms that would last for a few seconds each and he would scream during this time. Then they would stop for a few seconds and start again. This lasted for about 5 minutes. It does not seem to be a seizure, but the shaking is more than just a tremble; he can not control his body at all while it is happening and his screaming sounds like he is in terrible pain. This is the second time this has happened after using tylenol to bring down his fever, the other time being about 3 months ago. I don't know if it is caused by the medicine or from the fever dropping so rapidly. Has anyone else experienced this?Read More Read Less
