I'm surprised at the negative reviews. I started taking this instead of Lactaid and LOVE it. Just 1 pill a day and you don't have to remember to take something before eating any dairy. It's not a complete silver bullet - things like ice cream will still bother me but not nearly as bad as before.

I love rich, thick, creamy yogurt. I eat it for lunch daily. After getting super bloated and gassy afterwards, I started taking a few different things. Yogurt is pretty much the only dairy I eat, so I thought maybe I was lactose intolerant. Day one, I got great results. No gas, or bloating. After that, nothing. It didn't take long to figure out that taking this caused me to be constipated. I don't need that at all, so I quit taking the pills. I just stick with a couple phasyne and if it works, it does. My husband can live with the effects of yogurt and like it. I can find nothing that says this may cause constipation, but it's the only new thing I added, so it's the one that's gone.Read More Read Less

Have been using these pills for years without any issues. Normally take 3 to 4 before any meal which contains milk or milk ingredients. Have experienced no side effects. If people have difficulty swallowing pills they should crush them into a powder and take it with water.

I started taking this medication last week and have had diarrhea and nausea ever since. Thought I had the stomach flu until I read the other reviews and discontinued use.

I took this to relieve a lot of rumbling gas that lasted for hours after ingesting milk. It seemed as if it reduced the gas a bit; however, I have noticed that I must be retaining water sincere ankles were swollen since starting this. Not happy with that and I don't think it worked well to reduce gas. Some diarrhea too.

After less then one hour after digesting the pills,I became violently sick to my stomach. It lasted most of the evening. This is the second time this has happened, so I know it is a reaction to the pills. I will not take them again.
