I was prescribed Prudoxin to help with hives and a severe dishydrotic eczema outbreak after a massive allergic reaction to a painkiller. Huge doses of prednisone and benadryl hadn't touched it. But the Prudoxin worked very quickly, reducing the itching and swelling and redness, which was a relief, since a lot of it was on my face. It's been 3 days and I almost look/feel normal again. I'm taking it concurrently with oral doxepin, prednisone, benadryl, zantac and singulair, so I can't tell if the drowsiness and weird bitter taste I'm experiencing are from the cream or the sheer wall of meds my doctor has had to throw at this particularly stubborn allergic meltdown. But relief from the maddening itching and being able to sleep has definitely been worth it. I did notice that after application to my face (did not happen with my arm or torso), I would sweat profusely for several minutes at the application site. I try to stand by with a tissue when that happens, so I don't get the runoff in my eyes or mouth. Definitely going to keep it handy for my normal eczema outbreaks!Read More Read Less

My arms itched so bad, I would awake at night itching madly, and couldn't sleep. Went to a lot of doctors and nothing helped. Finally my dermatologist prescribed Prudoxin, 5% cream. I put it on before I go to bed at night. The itching stops and I sleep all night. It works! The only trouble is the cream is very expensive. So, some nights I just use over the counter benadryl lotion. But the benadryl only works for about 4 hours before I again wake up itching.
