If you are:
Only When Necessary: REPORTS OF ARTHROPATHY WITH QUINOLONES IN ANIMAL STUDIES; CONSIDER RISK/BENEFIT
Precaution: INSUFFICIENT DATA AVAILABLE; LIMITED DATA SUGGEST MINIMAL AMOUNT EXCRETED
An adult over 60:
management or monitoring precaution: Musculoskeletal-Risk for tendinitis and tendon rupture increases with concomitant corticosteroid use. Cardiovascular-Elderly may be more susceptible to QT-prolongation. Monitor and correct electrolytes (e.g., K, Mg). Neuro/Psych-Risk for peripheral neuropathy which may affect walking and increase fall risk. Renal-Adjust dose for CrCL< 50 mL/min.
