fluoride
Pronunciation (flōr′īd)
- A compound of fluorine with a metal, a nonmetal, or an organic radical.
- The anion of fluorine; inhibits enolase; found in bone and tooth apatite; fluoride has a cariostatic effect; high levels are toxic.
