My husband has had angina for several years and it has done wonders for his condition. He has only been on it for a little over a week and has had to take only one nitro pill and he had only been on it for two days, but has not had angina since.

The drug has decreased the number of and intensity of angina pains. It has worked very well for me. It is expensive, and the only side effect I have experienced is some constipation.

Have had two open-heart surgeries and suffer from CAD. This medication was prescribed by my cardiologist for angina pain upon exertion vs. 'continual'. Very expensive med for something that DOES NOT WORK AT ALL! Have been taking this med for seven years now because my dr. wants me to continue. If I didn't have a very good drug plan I would stop this medication instantly as it's very expensive with no generic. I take 500mg twice daily. What's really funny is to read the manufacturer's summary on how it works....seriously it states "we don't know the exact mechanism on how this drug works". And at $500.00/month I would guess they don't care!Read More Read Less

Medication works for angina - but side effects make it questionable how long I can take it.

Have coronary artery disease (stent on LAD) and continued to have angina. Using Ranexa to treat coronary microvasculor disease. It has relieved my symptoms and I am able to exercise more than I have in years and have more energy in general!

I am 70 Yrs young/ history of CAD, 2 bypass surgeries, numerious meds,, started Ranexa 2 months ago, as last option, I experience severe constipation, now take pills to quell the constipation,, drug is very expensive,, but this is America, where drug and insurance companies reign and are in control of our lives,, shame on them. Only pray that our Government would step up to the plate and give us that truly need some intervention the time and consideration to let us know we are not forgotten. I was having frequent angina with just mild exertion and had to take nitro 3 or 4 times a day. Ranexa has made a big difference.
