My husband has had angina for several years and it has done wonders for his condition. He has only been on it for a little over a week and has had to take only one nitro pill and he had only been on it for two days, but has not had angina since.

I have had some side effects that I do not know if they are related to Ranexa. Since starting Ranexa I have had a lot of sleeplessness and difficulty urinating.

I started taking it for chest pain huge shortness of breath. I've been on it for about 2 1/2 yrs. 10 yrs out from 3x bypass. 5-6 from last stents, medicated. The medicated stents have lasted longer than anything else. I had stents 4/99,bi pass 6/99, angio 9/99, started eecp 10/99. I had 2 full treatments of eecp. Just playing with meds until medicated stents. Then ranexa. I've started having issues again, so probably time for a tune up. How exiciting.

My chest pain kept me from living a productive life. I could not get a breath with any activity. With all the meds and procedures I've had I should feel great. I didn't. After my last heart angio the Dr. said to try this med. By the end of the week I was in great shape. As far as side afects I'm on a ton of drugs. What drug can't cause side affects? I'm alive and now able to walk a few blocks and keep up the pace on my job. The cost is high. Being able to work, concentrate and keep up with friends/family is worth it.Read More Read Less

Hospitalized with severe chest/jaw/teeth pain 3 months after triple bypass surgery (1 bypass failed) and started ranexa which quickly relieved the resting chest pains, however, upon beginning low level activity chronic teeth pain remains and angina increases with activity. No side effects from drug noted.

I feel worse than I did before taking Ranexa. Now on top of chest pain and breathing trouble, I have a very dry mouth and intensive heart burn. I was on 500mg twice a day and the doctor just upped it to 3 times a day leading up to 4. I have no hope with this drug.

I am taking 1000 mg AM & PM, works really good, do not have to take nitro but maybe 1-2 times a week. I like the effects the cost is terribly expensive when you have to buy the 1000 my verses the 500. I am going to talk to Dr about possible less expensive med that will do the same prayfully.
