Went snorkeling in the ocean, and started feeling a burning sensation in my left eye that evening... next morning, my left eye was stuck shut. Went snorkeling again the next day, felt burning sensation again... just thought it was the salt water & thought no more about it... woke up next day to both eyes being stuck shut. That was Monday... by Monday night, both eyes were extremely irritated. Woke Tuesday morning to eyes being stuck shut again, but only worse.... placed a hot compress on eyes to relieve discomfort... then went to Doctor & was diagnosed with Pink Eye... Was given script for Vigamox and placed first drops in my eyes at the pharmacy! By second dose, the inflamation & irritation was subsiding. Awoke the next morning without my eyes being stuck shut anymore!! Yeah!! This medicine is great... works fast & no stinging.Read More Read Less

I work for an opthalmologist and tried a sample for my doggy, a darling little eight year old shih-tzu who contracted conjunctivitis. She's just fine after a week of twice a week drops, and no terrible vet bills!!!

Not sure on how to rate this since I used the drops ONE time (1 drop per eye) and had a severe reaction to them. I habe never been allergic to any medication yet this one put me into anaphalactic shock. Can't say I will ever use it again....

I've been treated for 2 years for chronic uveitis brought on by a reaction to a blood transfusion with varying results. My retinal specialist gave me a major injection and prescribed this post injection. It works wonderfully.

After administering 3 drops daily as prescribed by my eye doctor It has cleared up the bacterial infection but it has made my eyes as well as sinuses very dry. I recommend using some over the counter tear drops.

My 16 month old son got pink eye and we took him to the doc who prescribed Vigamox. The very next day the discharge from the eyes was no longer present. The hardest part of the whole deal was getting my son to sit still while I put the drops in his eyes.

After a third visit to the doctor for what was diagnosed as "bacteriological conjunctivitis", I was given Vigimox. (see reviews of Bleph-10 and Tobramycin) It had no effect on my pink eye. So I went for a fourth visit and was told my infection was a virus. I went to the pharmacy and bought The homeopathic pink eye medecine by "Similisan." We'll see what happens! Vigimox was mis-prescribed in this case and did not work.

I am 35 years young. My eye doc prescribed this as a precautionary to fight any infection after lasik surgery. I took it for 3 days 3 times a day. i noticed bumps on forearms 2nd day and didnt think anything about it. 3rd day was worse and i wondered about this antibiotic and stopped taking it. It is now day 5 and I have a severe rash covering 90 percent of my body even after stopping the treatment 2 days ago. The eye dr didnt even want to aknowledge it was happening due the the treatment. I am going to another dr to find out how to get rid of this terrible poison ivy like rash.Read More Read Less

My 3 yr. old contracted pink eye, her dr. prescribed her this med. After 3 full days she had an allergic reaction. She has hives/rash all over her tummy, legs and feet. Didn't sleep well from scratching. She's also allergic to penicillan...

I had an ulcer on my cornea and the dr had me using this every hour for the first 12 hours after he diagnosed my problem, after just the next day, my I was feeling better, I continued on the medication every 2 hours, then down to 4 times a day for 3 days until the end of the week when he sees me again. But the medicine is working beautifully, I seem to have had some sinus pain, but nothing I could not deal with, just seemed like the air was cold. Also my mouth and tongue felt a little funny like I wanted to get ulcers but they never really developed and now by all of that is subsiding. The drug was very expensive because I do not have any insurance, however, I do not regret paying for it because it really did do what is supposed to do and that was to help heal my eye almost right away. It's working beautifully and quickly for the pink eye, but after 3 days my sinuses are starting to go crazy. This medication seems to dry them out quite a bit, especially while sleeping. I've had pink eye before, and used a different, cheaper eye drop. The few extra dollars for this one was well worth it, as I was able to go outside the very next day without discomfort due to the sun. It also stopped the excessive tearing by the first night.

This was prescribed to my 11 month old daughter after the (weak) cheep stuff didn't work. We used it for 3 days and it seemed to clear up the pink eye but then her eyes stayed red and she developed hives and a rash on her face. Our pediatrician told us to stop administering it (which we already had). I have been trying to figure out if this is a sulfa based drug but I can't find anything to tell me that. Her grandmother is allergic to those types of drugs and she may have inherited that.

I had no problem getting the drops in, but the itchiness would not go away and got progressively worse. My whole face itches, but there are no visible hives. I do not have any swelling or discharge in the eye area. My eye dr. wants me to continue to use it, but not sure I can tolerate it.

I have been using vigamox every hour of every day to treat a corneal ulcer. i started treatment on tuesday (it is now sat.) after today i can reduce my applications to every 2 hours. my eye feels SO much better- the only reason i didnt give 'effectiveness' and 'satisfaction' the full 5 stars is because i wont know if the drug has worked for sure until i go in for my next exam on tues.

Tried Vogamox for Style. At first I thought it was working but then my redness and swelling returned. The Ophthalmoligist said because I stopped with the warm compress it didn't all drain out. She gave me a prescription for Keflex antibiotic pills and said to use a warm compress every two hours until it drains and swelling goes down. Similasan over the counter works fine to relieve pain swelling ang redness. Don't use Vigomox for Stye.

I used this on my 3 year old and my 5 year old. It worked great for me. I have a tip for giving this to small kids. What I have found to work the best is to have them lay down on their back. Then, with their eyes gently CLOSED, put the drop in the corner of their eye. Then have the child open their eye slowly. This way the meds get into the eye, but you don't have to traumatise the child by dropping the eye drop directly into the eye. It is works great. My children have had no problems since finding this way to deliver the medicine. Read More Read Less
