Completing 5th day. No positive effect at all. Inflamation, light sensitivity and pain remain the same as the day I went to doctor. Will explore options and alternatives with doctor today.

I have been on this eye drop for several months due to a cornea ulcer. The ulcer healed so I stopped the drops. But two weeks later the ulcer tore. I was put back on the drops. I noticed when taking the drops a rash appeared on my back and a small area of my arm. We could not figure out what was causing it. We even had the old copper water pipes replaced hoping this would help. The dermatologist did not know what it was. It makes the skin feel like crate paper (streamers). The skin is very rigged feeling. While the drops were stopped the rash disappeared. We did not know if it was due to the water pipes being changed or not. The health department, on our request, checked our water. She asked if I was on eye drops. She said a lot of people get rashes when taking eye drops. I did not believe this but during the time that I did not take it the rash cleared. It left a scar on my arm. Has anyone else had a rash that felt like "ridges" in the skin or like crate paper? I have not talked to my pharmacist or doctor about it yet. I go to the doctor each week. I have had 6 eye surgeries in that eye due to retina detachment three times. Now the cornea has an ulcer. It is healing nicely. Thank you for any reply.Read More Read Less

I had a severe discharge, thick(not watery) My doctor diagnosed an infection. In fact I had 2 corneal transplants several years go and use a prosthetic shell. He prescribed use every 2 hours and saw me again within 2 days. It was very effective. New dosage was 3x per day. The next day the discharge totally ceased. Called my doctor and he told me to stop using the drops because my condition no longer required it. I am extremely pleased with the result.

Never again. Suspected something was wrong when price of this fluoroquinolone (Vigamox brand) sunk in. The long term (5 year+) risk to benefit is massive. Never had leg, knee, or brain fog issues until taking this drug. Then read that it should be reserved for use of last resort ie when other antibiotics have failed for the bacterial infection. Do not use in children nor in completive athletes - negative side effects in the next two years can not be cured (eg tendon, muscle, nerve damage, brain function). I wish I had known this - simple antibiotics easily worked in my neighbor's kids.Read More Read Less

Works well to fight the bacteria, also fights your wallet. The 3ml bottle sells for over $86...multiply that by 3 people in the house with pink eye and you have $265 in very expensive eye drops.

I was prescribed this to use after glaucoma surgery. I DID NOT have an infection- so, I'm not really sure why it was given to me to take in the 1st place. I had given the Dr. all my allergies but she obviously didn't read them & I didn't find out till after I took this that it is a flouroquinolone which is a VERY bad class of antibiotics Which is in process NOW of becomming a drug ONLY prescribed as a last resort because of the high possibility of debilitating musclular/tendon damage that doesn't show up for weeks or even a year after use. (google it) It works by distrupting DNA processes! It's not like any of the other antibiotics. I had taken this in the past (I didn't reconize the new generic name of it, & trusted that my Dr had read my file)Well, sure enough after using it I got hives & the worst headache ever! It makes your head feel like your brain is trying to squeeze out of it! Read your prescriptions & look them up- it's your body! Don't let the greedy pharmacuetecal companies strong arm you into the low cost nightmare drugs- usually they are low cost for a reason! Azithromycin or biaxin drops work even better stay in the eye longer & are around the same price with none of the bad side effects of the flouroquinolones!!!-I would only use those if you could DIE if you don't & nothing else has worked- they are THAT bad- read up on it.Read More Read Less

I was prescribed this for an infection for severally scratched cornia + eye infection. It was a bit expensive even at the cheap place ($102) but it was worth every penny. The pain in my eye was literally immidatlly taken care of, and the redness and puffiness. I have to take it once every 2 hours only in my right eye which for some reason makes my left eye feel dry in comparison at times, but I'll live.

My comment is why a tiny 3ML antibiotic needs to cost $107. My 2 year old has this eye infection for the second time and he was prescribed this Vigamox again. Unfortunatelly there was no generic and the insurance didn't cover. Really? can't they have another company making this prescription for less? This is not a drug for cancer, or anything like that... Very disapointed with the price for the size of the prescription.

My 1 year old daughter has pink eye and was prescribed Vigamox. Within 4 hours after the first dose the redness and swelling were completely gone! The cost was originally $100 but THANK GOODNESS for my insurance..which in the end I only had to pay $30. I would highly recommend this medicine to anyone who has pink eye!(as long as you have good insurance of course)

I'm a 30 year old male and caught pink eye at a family party. It took around three days for my symptons to clear up but I also developed a bad rash on my ankles that may be vasculitis. I've could only find one other case of this online so I wanted to document it. If I'm unfortunate enough to get pink eye again I will be using a different medication.

My 3 year old had been using it for his bacterial pink eye for 3 days, 3x a day as recommended by his doc, and on the 3rd day, he broke out in hives, itchiness, swelling, welts. I gave him topical Benadryl to combat the itchiness so he could sleep. However, I am discontinuing the use of this super drug, since it appears the condition will go away on its own according to other reports. It did clear up his eyes tremendously on day 1, which previously was swollen shut, was red, and had yellow pus coming out. However, I would exercise caution before using it again. took the medication for prescribed 5 days. still experiencing pain and sensitivity to light. will give it a few more days to heal before contacting doctor. my main complaint is the cost of this drug -- $100!! did not know that when I received the prescription but it was too late to go back and ask for something else. I just wanted relief. I will not take this drug again.

A few years ago my husband was arc welding and a piece of hot flux flew into his eyes and his eyes got burnt. We went to the doctor and he pescribed VIGAMOX and after the first day he got immediate relief, before the week was up his burnt eyes was healed,I still have it and it expired in 2009 but it stil works for him whenever his eyes get some irritant. He didnt have any side effects. And it still works! When it is finished I will buy another bottle and keep it, it's really a great medicine.
