My five year old could not keep his hands to himself, was interrupting the class with noise making, and easily aggitated. He was bieggining to be pegged as a "problem child" in school, always in trouble for things I knew, as his mother, he couldn't control. After disscussion with his Dr., we put him on a nightly dose of 25mg. This showed immediate results. After 2 weeks of meds I noticed a relaps...

Atomoxetine helped with my ADHD symptoms, but it caused dry mouth, insomnia, and urinary retention/hesitation problems

I’m an adult woman on 25mg twice a day of generic brand. Excellent so far. Added 10mg of straterra brand to it and it was awful. Low moods, absolute blackness in my head. Dropped the 10mg after 9 days. Never again will I go near that brand

I am 18 and started taking 40 mg for a month and experienced no motivation unlike what I had with concerta and other stimulants. I also got a little nauseous which got worse when I upped my dose to 80 mg. I took one day off because I was away from home and noticed my happiness return. This pill didn’t make me sad but it did make me lose interest in everything I used to enjoy. I literally wanted to do nothing, nothing made me happy when I was taking this. And I didn’t feel productive. The only benefit I experienced was increased memory, which did help me slightly in relationships where I could remember obligations, however the lack of motivation ruined a lot of the responsibilities I had. Also experienced the same decrease in appetite and increase in anxiety that stimulants gave me. I am still unable to read a book due to my brain constantly telling me to quit reading and lose focus.Read More Read Less

Remarkable improvement of sustained concentration and focus. No side effects, which is also remarkable since I've had side effects with other medications for ADHD.

I was prescribed atomoxetine for ADD (no hyperactivity) and took for 6 months. I had been on adderall for several years and lost an unhealthy amount of weight so I chose to stop and try other options. I tried atomoxetine, gradually increasing the dose as suggested by my doctor, but with zero improvement after six months and this medication not covered by my insurance I chose to go back to adderall with renewed goals of maintaining my weight.

From the first day of taking this medication - quite literally - I experienced increased focus of attention, lessening of thoughts of anxiety and negativity, lessened irritability or episodes of anger and an overall more peaceful and clear perception of myself and my surroundings.

I suggest you hold-off on reviewing this medication until your titration has reached its max. I came close to reviewing this medication on only 40 mg (bare in mind, I have only been on the meds for 2 weeks). Additionally, since I am in recovery, and have an addictive personality, I refuse to go the stimulant route. I am now one month into taking atomoxetine (now at 60 MG) and I an seeing some good results. In fact, typing a lengthier review than usual demonstrates its effectiveness. I will likely review the medication once I reach my maximum recommended dose. Be patient!!! It can take a few months to work, even when you reach your optimal dosage :) Read More Read Less

I have ADHD and this medicine has only led me to being unable to do work and feel tired, I spent half of the day just sleep because of this and if I take it at night then the whole day I’m more hyperactive then if I didn’t take it

I am amazed after years of of being an over thinker and always anxious and struggled with staying focused on one task, or even just finishing a task at all, I feel like a whole new person. This medication worked the first day and everyday since. I am so grateful I found a doctor that new this would help me. I’m happy, it anxious, I can focus and my brain isn’t racing.

Been taking it for a month as my first treatment step as a 22 year old who just got diagnosed with ADHD, depression, and insomnia. So far to no avail. I know it can take up to two months to work, but so far nothing has changed except it has made it harder to sleep, and with sleep problems already it is so far more harmful than helpful. The painful ejaculation side effect was there but is quite mild (imagine something very slightly spicy in the testes and urethra) and less and less frequent the more I take it. Not sure if it affecting my appetite as my eating habits have always been abnormal. No other side effects but no benefits as if yet. Am meeting with my doctor to discuss this all tomorrow and they may up my dose, switch treatments, or add on other treatments. If they keep me on it I will update again in a month but so far am dissatisfied. Read More Read Less

This did wonders for me compared to adderall or ritalin, no jitters, no sweating, no anxiety, no mood swings. However, I find the effects to be inconsistent. Some days I feel like I havent taken anything while others I can be a bit of a zombie, but most of the time I feel like a productive normie. Best part is its not a stimulant.

I am very tolerant to medication. I took my first cap with juice after breakfast. I immediately became nauseous increasinoworse as the day went on. Then I became extremely jittery for hours. This morning, after 20 hours I got a headache which became worse as the day went on with no headache medicine working. My overall health is completely down. This was poison to me. This drug should be stopped. Do not take.

I had switched from Adderall XR to Straterra when my doctor had months of samples and my Adderall was getting to be quite expensive. Also, being a non stimulant this was quite appealing. I had high hopes but this did not work for me at all. I guess technically it helped me calm down but in the worst way because all I ever wanted to do was sleep. I had absolutely no energy or motivation to do anything! I have never been a person to take naps during the day but I had to take a nap basically every day while on this. My doctor had me gradually increasing the dose every few days and I thought it was going to get better but it definitely got worse. It also made me very constipated. When I forgot to take a pill one day, I felt SO much better and that's right when I realized why I've been feeling so down. So I didn't even make it a month on them and then switched back to Adderall XR 30mg/day which works pretty well for me. Read More Read Less
