Cardiologist prescribed Zetia. Cost too much. Purchase Generic form (ezetimibe ) from Canadian Pharmacy. Works great! Cardiologist is very pleased with the results.

I have taken other cholesterol meds for years, and labs are always great. Took this for 60 days; my labs are horrible in every area. I was shocked. See the endocrinologist tomorrow.

Taking this because my cholesterol was high before starting Accutane. NP said I was too young for statins, so suggested this with lifestyle changes to help manage the increase that would be caused by the Accutane. So far works fine with no noticeable side effects, and the first blood test showed lower cholesterol than before, even after 1 month of Accutane.

After 28 days of taking 10 mg a day, I have finally realized this medication was causing severe memory loss. After 15 days of feeling like I had had a stroke with my memory, I finally asked myself, what had changed? The only thing I came up with was the addition of this medication. I have been successfully taking a statin (Provocal) for the last 10 years, however, I am now on the highest dose and my doctor felt this, Ezetimibe, would help to reduce my cholesterol, as the numbers have been creeping up. But after 28 days, and my memory still bad, I am stopping this medication.Read More Read Less

I took this medication for 3, very long weeks. It made me so dizzy I could barely walk and the back pain was the worse back ache I have ever had.

Was switched over from Atorvastatin. After a month or so of taking it I began encountering congestion in my left ear and weekly intermittent dizzy spells. After a battery of prescribed tests blood, ekg, mri, eye, dental showing nothing I took matters into my hands after journaling and looking at common dates and possibilities. On Aug 27 stopped taking Ezemitibe. Within one week had a mild 50% dizzy spell. Not like usual while taking it. After Sept 4, not one. No left ear fullness even when having a head cold. I'm convinced enough.Read More Read Less

Dr added this to my Fenofibrate (I cannot tolerate statins). Ezetimibe gave me a headache, my legs hurt so bad that I could only take a couple of steps and had to lean on my cane for support. Had sever pain also in my lower back and neck. At first I did not realize it was the meds, see I have osteoarthritis and that I was having a bad few weeks. I did not take the med for 2 days and I cannot believe how much the pain has lessened. I will wait a few more days then call my dr and tell her I stopped the med and will never take it again.Read More Read Less

My Dr prescribed Ezetimibe 10 MG Tablets for me and I've been taking at bedtime for a year and a half. During the last 6 months of being on this medication, I have experienced a gambit of never before symptoms that I had never had much of before. The abdominal pains, back pains, dizzy spells, wheezing in my lungs, sinus problems, and finally, heart palpitations. All of these issues hit me individually at times, and over time they just built up and all of a sudden it seemed like they all started happening together. I saw a cardiologist and a pulmonologist and things checked out OK. I continued to take the meds, and then decided to see a gastrologist. He informed me that the Ezetimibe can cause abdominal pains. Which I did not associate with my issues until he pointed it out. I had CT scans and all my organs checked out OK. Neither dr could find anything wrong with me physically, persey so I decided to stop taking the Ezetimibe. It has been a little over 1 month since I took that last pill. Gradually the wheezing and coughing has stopped. The dizzy spells have stopped. The sinus issues have stopped. The heart palpitations stopped long before I stopped taking the meds, so I can't say the meds caused that problem. The back pains and abdominal pains are still there, but interestingly enough, the CT scan revealed that I now have a hernia. Not sure whether thats and age issue (Im 64) or caused by something else but now I've got to figure out how I'm going to deal with this. Read More Read Less

I had taken Zetia for five days now, and each night I had annoying dreams (NOT nightmares) and then last night the "psychedelic dreams" started (similar to when I have taken anti-malaria drugs while traveling). So, I wasn't getting a good night's sleep. And I could give a class on how to sleep! My husband says I'm asleep before my head hits the pillow and I never remember my dreams, and on occasion, when I do, they are always happy ones. So, I want to get a good night's sleep and stopped the Zetia. Now my doctor recommends taking atorvastatin instead, one every other day, and see what happens. I had tried rosuvastatin and also had the "psychedelic" dreams but they were much more intense. He says that Zetia does not have "pschoactive" side-effects, but I had them and I see others have too!Read More Read Less

This has worked great for my cholesterol and as side benefit my uncontrolled diabetes was normal for the first time in 10 years! Unfortunately the side effects are terrible. The muscle aches, joint pain, stomach cramps and other symptoms caused me to stop taking it. I'm going to try going to every other day.

I started taking these every other day due to nausea. I started having awful headaches and couldn't see out of my left eye. I thought it was the result of cateracts they said were growing. Went and had an eye exam and nothing had changed much in the left eye, but the normal vision alteration from aging. Finally realized it would only happen when I took these pills. Stop taking them eye cleared up and headaches went away. These pills were killing me.

Was on statins. Had horrible muscle pain and memory problems. Dr.recommended this drug. It has done wonders for my cholesterol levels without any lifestyle changes. Would definitely recommend for anyone who has problems taking statins.

I tried several statins and herbal supplements, most came with awful side effects or didn't work. The dr. prescribed ezetimibe 10 mg. After 6 weeks, total cholesterol dropped 100 pts. I take a thyroid medication, exercise, eat clean and I'm slender. Cholesterol issue seems to be hereditary. I have noticed that my blood is thinner, I bleed a lot if cut. Didn't see this as a side effect though. I have been taking this for 3 months.

After trying 5 different statins w horrid side effects i decided to try Zetia. One of my sisters cholesterol was over over 300 and after 60 days dropped to 80. I've just passed my 1 wk mark with 2 light infrequent side effects, bloating and 2x a tingling in my legs. If this works when I'm retested I'll be euphoric.Im a 65 yr old female who recently discovered through a doppler test that my right internal carotid artery is 100% occluded so i have to stay super proactive. So far I'm loving this med. Oh by the way tried Garlicque for 90 days...forget it cholesterol went UP 30 points.Read More Read Less

It took me a while to realize the serious problem with insomnia I started experiencing was due to the ezetimibe. Problems with sleep wasn't listed on the routine list of side effects I had looked at. I also was having a low level constant anxiety and mild depression. This does not occur when off of this medication.
