I have been using this drug off and on since 1999. My psoriasis was so severe I was embarrassed to be out in public. Within months, my psoriasis cleared enough for me to be confident about being among people. The only side effect has been loss of hair but it has been localized to the top back of the head the same as any balding man. No problem at all since the drug gave me my life back. Never have...

I am taking this medication to treat Grover’s rash. After about 1 week the terrible itching subsided and the rash began to flatten out and fade . I have been on it for 4 weeks now and have seen good improvement.. I was very apprehensive about starting it but side effects have been tolerable. Mostly have experienced a lot of peeling skin, especially on hands and legs and feet.Skin feels clammy and sticky . Lips have been dry but not cracked ( put on Vaseline at nighttime to help lips). Eyes get very dry and kind of ache at night with crustiness after sleeping. Also I seem to get easily chilled and have insomnia at night. Since the rash is almost gone I plan to discontinue the medication in next couple of days. I have not experienced hair loss as of yet and that was a big fear as my hair is thin and fine. I am hoping the rash doesn’t return after discontinuing . Read More Read Less

I have been on those tablets 25mg since 12-10-2023. My condition was terrible von over 45% of my body, elbows, knees, back, legs and back of my hands. Could not wear shorts in public, hard when you work in the building industry. After three weeks my skin over the patches started to flake but with the use extra use Nivea express Hydration cream my patches have now just a light pink colour just like new skin. Back and stomach has clear by around 50%. No side effects so far.

I have been taking acetretin 25mg for 4 weeks now and the side effects have not been worth it. The psoriasis on my body has cleared but turned into a red rash all over instead. My skin has been peeling all over my body, i have a waxy mouth, dry chapped lips, joint pains in my elbows and shoulders. Burning, itchy, waxy feeling all over my body 24/7. Quality of life has got worse, only difference i have seen is my feet have cleared completely after 10 + years but I feel the side effects are definitely not worth it. Sadly, I have had to stop this medication. Really wish it had worked for meRead More Read Less

I had a lot of side affects on this medication. First it started with a waxy taste in my mouth which drove me crazy for two months before disappearing. Sweating, hot flushes, back pain, swelling of the skin around nails which caused my big toes nails to both impale and get infected. Skin peeling on feet and hands, blisters under my feet, hair thinning, red skin which went away after a month or so, badly chapped lips, discomfort up my nose due to dryness, generally unwell feeling. Despite all that my skin started clearing and the 7 to 8 month mark was brilliant results, however my hair started to completely break off and kink. Doctors said I can't continue treatment and I've had to cut my hair off. What's left looks like I've just escaped from a asylum. It is true that most symptoms get better after a couple of months. I met a lady who had been on this medication 3 years and she said it was the best decision (she had the terrible foot pain up until 6months also). I was just unlucky that the hair thinning didn't settle down and it continued.Read More Read Less

Life long psoriasis sufferer. Dermatologist will no longer prescribe biologic injections since I had an agresive carcinoma on my forearm. Neotigason 10mg daily has been prescribed. Significant improvement, but some lesions have been resistant. Dose recently increased to 20mg daily. Psoriasis nearly completely gone. Unfortunately, very sore lips and nostrils have forced me to reduce dose back to 10mg. So far (2 weeks) on reduced dose the psoriasis has not returned. Unfortunately, lip and nose soreness has not improved as yet. Will carry on, and hope gor the best. At least now I can wear summer dresses instead of being covered up all the time.Read More Read Less

Started on 10mg raised to 50mg over 3 months, Been taking 50mg for the last 2 months and I finally have my hands back, Terrible back paid and very brittle nails and sore lips but other than that I’m ok, Skin all cleared up, Specialist had advised I will be taking this medicine for a while yet and it will be a slow ween off, I max the mistake of stopping soon as hands were clear but it came back within a few days, Hopefully this does fully clear as I don’t want to be taking medication everyday for the next 50 years Read More Read Less

I’ve been taking 25mg for 9 months. Skin cleared up after 3-4 months but now, I have muscle aches, bone aches and I’m finding it hard to stay mobile (pick things off floor or out shoes on etc.). Anyone else having these issues. I’m now in lots of pain and can’t move freely. Just stopped pills to see if this is the issue.

I’ve been using 10mg dose once a day. Acitretin or soriatane has been the only thing that has helped clear my psoriasis on my hands. Other than dry, mildly chapped lips; I have had no major side effects from this drug. I was on Otezla but gave me tension headaches. Acitretin is a tried and true medication and has allowed me to overcome psoriasis.

I have psoriasis on hands and feet. Not really clearing up. Better but still there. Been on it since Feb, 3 months. My hair is falling out in clumps and I’m worried it won’t grow back or won’t stop. Lips are severely dry. Dry eyes. I am a female so the hair loss is horrible for me. I’m thinking of stopping.

I have had eczema for years and been through several treatments this is the only medication that worked for me! I finally have my hands back which I haven’t seen for years, couldn’t be happier. The only thing is that what seem to happen was my condition got considerable worse when I started the medication before it got better but I stuck with it.

Tried a number of treatments with little benefit-laser, creams, etc. This med did the trick. No more cracked, painful hands and fingers. Minimal side effects for me. I now take it once every 15 to 30 days as needed. My dermatologist recommended taking it with alcohol because it extends it's effectiveness through reverse metabolism into etretinate. As a male who has little chance of becoming pregnant, the extended half life is not a concern.

I believe that Soriatane has caused inability to focus, cloudy thinking, and general mental sluggishness. Anyone else having this nagging effect?
