I started taking birth control for irregular periods, but then my need evolved to birth control. I first took Seasonique but switched over to Daysee because it was essentially the same thing and was cheaper. I have had no problems with it at all. It works great, I've never gotten pregnant despite my sexual activity. The only side effect I would say was that my skin improved and my acne decreased...

It's almost a month now but I've been spotting every other week it seems. Will follow up with my PCP about this. Otherwise no mood swings so far.

This is a review from a husband that has had a wife using this drug. I highly suspect this drug as causing extreme amounts of clotting which resulted in a life threatening Pulmonary Embolism. She passed out in front of me and hit her head on the ground (unconscious for 2 min and had to be carried to the car). While going to the ER she complained of shallow breathing, in hind sight, this was caused by over 20 clots in her lungs (one lodged in the right side of the heart causing enlargement). Fortunately the hospital was very good… she was triaged and prepped for surgery with 1 hour and 16 minutes. They used a new method of using a special catheter to remove the clots in the lungs… the heart required blood thinners and time to determine the need for further surgery. Fast forward to today… she is recovering well but had we not had great medical care it would have been fatal. Please read this has a warning that this has happened to a person that used this drug.Read More Read Less

I’m 42 years old and I want to share my story of how horrible this birth control pill is and warn women to NEVER take this medication in life! I switched from Ortho Tri Cyclen in April 2022 to Daysee to experience relief from somewhat painful periods every month. I went to an new OBGYN who suggested Daysee and that it could bring relief from having monthly periods to quarterly periods. I was happy and enthusiastic to try it so I switched over. By far, the worst decision I’ve made. I can’t even begin to describe the anxiety and depress I’ve experienced under this medication. At first I had spot through bleeding theorist the month for about 2 months. Once that went away, things got normal for a few months but in Oct 2022 I developed elevated copper in my system. The doctors couldn’t figure out how I developed it but stated it was something I took orally. I finally realized by eliminating everything from my diet, that it was the Daysee pills. Once I stopped taking it, my copper level has decreased by me taking zinc every day to reduce the copper. My mental health has never been where it is today. I am seeing a therapist and on anti depressants because of severe insomnia. I wish I never switched over. Please I beg any woman who is reading this to never take this medication. Do you your research and find another alternative. If I could sue the manufacturer for pain and suffering, I would because this has been so detrimental to my mental and physical health!Read More Read Less

I have mixed reviews on this medication - Which is why I chose three stars as my satisfaction rating. I have been taking birth control for nearly two years now, and this is the third one that I was put on. I was placed on this medication to relieve my heavy periods and help alleviate my crippling, mind altering PMDD that coincided. The first two months were not bad. I didn’t experience any breakthrough bleeding - Which was a big plus; given my past experiences with birth control. Instead, I had the strange symptoms that, typically, aren’t listed in the “side effects” paper in the box. During month three, I developed corneal ulcers in both eyes - My optometrist confirmed that the ulcers were caused by the dry eyes that the pill gave me. I am now at the end of month three, and started bleeding one week before the placebo pills. My PMDD isn’t any better, if anything, it’s gotten worse. I continue to experience frequent panic attacks accompanied with strong, sudden sadness and sense of impending doom. Mentally, it has done more harm than good. Physically, I don’t know that I will be able continue to take this medication. Read More Read Less

I have been on this med since around 15 years old for painful cramps, migraines, and heavy bleeding. It was amazing to only have a period once every 3 months. I am 23 now almost 24. It worked well for actual birth control and for period relief. My topiramate for migraines did lessen the effectiveness and I did have breakthrough periods as of recently the past few years. The main issue that I need you all to look out for if you choose to take this: get scans of your abdomen. I recently found out through a CT they found a hemangioma on my liver and then after doing an MRI for better results they found a 2.3cm lesion correlating to a hepatic adenoma. This is generally a benign tumor on the liver from long term birth control pill use. Now I have to stop the birth control and get repeat MRIs in 6 months to ensure it hasn’t grown. Just be very very careful. Read More Read Less

This is the WORST birth control I have ever taken. I was on seasonique before and it worked great. My pharmacy said this was the same and that they didnt have anymore of the other one. Since switching to this one - I have had my period/spotting/breakthrough for 45 days as of this review on 11/02/22. I go to the dr and they tell me nothing is wrong and im fine. i have been light headed and fainted once already while taking this pill. I have never fainted before in my life. I do not think anyone should take this and there should be a recall on it. i have period cramps like i am on my period. please do not get this birth control. Read More Read Less

I started daysee due to extreme pain and heavy flow during my periods. During the first 2 to 3 months the breakthrough bleeding was annoying, it lasted a couple weeks. However, my hormones have been so much better. From the way I was feeling before to now is a major change. I'm just now experiencing my first period during the yellow week and I feel really great!!! My doctor suggested the right one for me. Its not for everyone and I get that but it does work for me.

Taken for heavy periods. I've had break through bleeding along with my period for 5 months. I started 2 periods after about 40 days period free. The 2nd, I'm still on...29 days later . Do not use.

Why this medication had work for me fair well because, i started taking this and im only a teen with 8 days heavy period and this I use it to suppose to not get heavy periods an I use daysee so my period comes every 3 months but problem is when there’s a mistake of taking the pills, i finish them and my period still haven’t came so I stop taking them then my period comes on it’s own but, it does help with heavy periods but this time first time this happen my period came more early on the pills so i didn’t know what to do and it just came out of no where so really I’m confused and to contact docter u csnt just talk to them u have to make an appointment which sucks, so it’s all over the place so it’s been great but i worry to much when I’m on the pill so it’s better not to take them for my own good. I'm not usually ones to write reviews, however, Daysee deserved this review. I decided I wanted to switch to an extended-cycle birth control so that I would only get my period 4 times a year opposed to the painful and heavy periods I would get every month. Before taking Daysee, I read multiple negative reviews on it and only a few positive. I decided that I would rather try it out myself first than to critique it prior. Well, I should have absolutely gone with the reviews I read. The first month on this pill everything seemed to be going fine and smooth sailing... until I started my second month. Nearly 2-3 days after beginning my second month, I noticed I started to spot. Now, I will say I have missed a day or two here and there. However, I'm pretty good at staying on track. Nearly 6 days later from when I first noticed the spotting, it has gotten worse basically now breakthrough bleeding. As if it is my actual period from the awful cramps I've been having. I now have been having to wear a tampon opposed to a liner. The spotting and cramps are just the gist of it. The side effects I have been experiencing while on Daysee are FAR WORSE. From constant migraines, brain fog, nausea, anxiety and depression with mood swings, unexplained crying spells. Daysee by far has been the worst birth control I've ever been on. I do not feel like myself one bit to the point where even my boyfriend has noticed it as well. I've read to stop the breakthrough bleeding that I need to stop taking the pill for 5-6 days to "reset". But effective immediately, I will NOT continue to take Daysee. I will be finding a better alternative than this trash medication. I truly do NOT recommend taking or even trying Daysee out. Your body and mind will thank you later for this decision!Read More Read Less

Wrost birth control pill I've ever taken. I wanted the option to only have four cycles per year. Due to Iron and feeling weak during my cycle. I started taking them and had the wrost cramps ever. Now I've been dealing with spotting and irregular bleeding. I started off spotting for one week then my cycle came on the next week. Month prior I bleed for like three weeks straight. There is something wrong with this pill and I'm throwing mines away. I'd rather deal with a monthly cycle. Also I started having hot flashes and night sweats really bad when I started these pills. Would not recommend. Read More Read Less

Week 4 of taking pill my cycle came on. I usually have a 4 days cycle. Here it is day 12 and cycle is still on rather heavy. I'm feeling weak and nauseous at times. Think I'm becoming anemic. (History of it) My reason for taking it is for fibroids and I'm bleeding more now than what the fibroids caused.

I took this pill for a little over one month after being switched from a different brand. This is the worst birth control that I have ever taken. I have never experienced anxiety a day in my life and I was a complete mess for over a week due to this birth control. Uncontrollably crying all of the time, I was scared to leave the house, I didnâ??t want to talk to anyone, I was constantly worried over nothing. Within three days of stopping this pill I was 90% better, within a week I was feeling 100% better. If you look under psychological side effects of this pill anxiety is a common one. The first 3 months were great. No mood swings, acne, or PMS. By the next pack everything changed. These huge pimples started to appear on my chin that were deep and even a month later are still healing. Then there's the breakthrough bleeding. Started spotting 6 weeks before my period is supposed to start. Bright red, clots, and it's continuous. I'm 38 and have never used as many pads and tampons in my life! Dr wanted me to stay on it but I've decided not to. It's horrible and completely ruined my sex life for weeks!Read More Read Less

I started taking this and I’m at week 11 and have been spotting since week 8 I absolutely hate it. It’s not enough for me to have to wear a pad however I have to wear a panty liner everyday which is annoying. My spotting is brownish and has blood clots in it. My cramps aren’t really severe but they have woke me up at night. I’m taking Daysee.
