I have not been taking this medication long enough to know if has helped lower my triglycerides. Based on the research I did before going on Vascepa I am sure it will do that. What I do know is that my mild depression and hot flashes are gone and my joint pain seems to be less. I know it sounds crazy but I looked up EPA which is primarily what Vascepa is and it appears all of these things can be...

About one week into taking it and I have hives on my belly and a rash on both forearms like poison ivy. Not worth it.

I was directed to the drug for its anti inflammatory benefits…I got off statins and am taking Vascepa….although other components of my lipid panel have increased, my last Tryg print was 86…also lost 10 pounds, normalized blood pressure and dry eye problem eliminated….so far, so good……..

Seems less effective than Lovaza. Corelates to a 20% increase in blood sugar over 2 months

What I do know is that my mild depression and hot flashes are gone and my joint pain seems to be less. I know it sounds crazy but I looked up EPA which is primarily what Vascepa is and it appears all of these things can be attributed to higher levels of EPA in your blood. I hope to be able to take this forever. I have quit taking bupropion (depression) and have quit taking my hormone replacement medicine (hot flashes, etc). Read More Read Less

Triglycerides went from over 600 to 290 at last screening. I can't wait to see my next results. I'm not as stiff througout the day. This is a big improvement for me.

Triglycerides were 727. Vascepa reduced them to 257 with minimal lifestyle changes. Originally prescribed fenofibrate which caused significant muscle soreness. No side effects with Vascepa.

I started taking Vascepa to ease the muscle cramps from statin use. Within 3 weeks I was pain free and in the gym. It has helped lower my trig profile and my next visit the cardiologist will set my statin dose to the lowest level.

I actually had this added to my statin therapy in the hopes it would take the edge off the pain/cramps I have with statins alone. COQ-10 did not help but after 2 weeks on Vascepa at 2 grams, I had less pain and could actually start to exercise again.

I like Vascepa a lot better than Lovaza. It doesn't give me indegestion, fish burps, and my doctor says it's better for my LDL and HDL levels.
