I have not been taking this medication long enough to know if has helped lower my triglycerides. Based on the research I did before going on Vascepa I am sure it will do that. What I do know is that my mild depression and hot flashes are gone and my joint pain seems to be less. I know it sounds crazy but I looked up EPA which is primarily what Vascepa is and it appears all of these things can be...

About one week into taking it and I have hives on my belly and a rash on both forearms like poison ivy. Not worth it.

Have taken Vascepa for 3 years for artery blockages and general cardio improvement. It reduces heart attack and stroke by 25 percent in a recent research study. I have no side effects from it. It also improves your mood somewhat. And I suspect it has curbed my appetite a little as I have lost 8 pounds. IMO anyone with cardio issues should be taking it.

Trigs have been reduced by half, Iâ??ve lost weight without changing my exercise routine. Iâ??m over 60 and was worried that Alzheimerâ??s was going to be a thing for me. Itâ??s in my family history. After starting Vascepa my mind is much clearer. Itâ??s amazing. I hear a song on the radio and I know who the band is. I see an actor and can remember their name. That was slipping away from me previous to Vascepa. I highly recommend this for anyone thatâ??s getting older.

Dr prescribed Vascepa for my high TG level (253 in April). Very pleased after first 3 months. TG level at 186 now. Sleeping better and lost some weight which may be attributed to this drug since I didn¢t change lifestyle much. Thankful to have a Dr who knows what he¢s doing.

I have an OK blood panel. I was interested in the arthritic pain relief side effect. After 30 days I had 90% relief.

had muscle pains when taking statins, but switched to Vascepa and all the side effects are gone, but it only reduces my Trig by around 15-20 pts max. So doctor put me on both vascepa and fenofibrate at same time, my Trig dropped from over 300 points down to low 160. Happier and healthier now.

I am a 65-year-old white female who has been prescribed Vascepa 1GM capsules two, BID. Since taking this medication, my joint pain has increased 10-fold, to the point where I am in excruciating pain, 24x7. My stomach upset has increased significantly. AND, for the first time in my life, I have had thoughts of suicide. After being on this medication two months, I stopped taking it three days ago. There is no doubt in my mind that I am having severe reaction to this medication, which I am sure is rare after having read such positive reviews above. I plan to seek medical assistance immediately.Read More Read Less

My doc prescribed this for me as an alternative to medication. I have many gastric issues ( a gift from my dad). Barrett's esophagus, GERD, ulers, IBS. After 3 weeks of taking Vascepa, I felt like I needed my gall bladder out again. Intense upper stomach pain. After research, I found 7% of individuals with stomach issues have this reaction.

Second time taking Vascepa. After switching doctors had to go through a whole bunch of different drugs that had side effects or had no effect. Back on Vascepa now and my first lab work after 4 months taking Vascepa showed normal Triglycerides for the first time in my adult life.

TG lowered by ONE point over 6 weeks. Total cholesterol raised by 21, hdl lowered by 2, ldl raised by 23. Glucose levels also raised. Constant trips to the bathroom, oily skin and blocked eyelid glands, aches, pains, stiffness, fatigue. This "medicine" was killing me. Oxidative stress as well

After taking another drug Lovaza my triglycerides came down but VLDL and LDL went up and my HDL's were still low. I found Vascepa after researching and took this to the lipid specialist I was seeing and had him prescribe it, along with Niacin ER and a changed diet. When I came back for results, everything looked wonderful. The specialist said it looked like I was on a statin, which I can't take. I have since started taking Metformin for metabolic syndrome and prediabetes. I've lost a lot of weight and my finger stick glucose is within normal limits. I feel good, and I have no side effects. The only thing is that I forget to take two in the morning with a meal and two in the evening with a meal, so I just all four at one time so that at least I am getting the medicine. If it came in a single pill extended release form it would be a godsend!Read More Read Less

best for high trigl with no side effect. safer than statin drugs that give you joint pains and soreness and statins are toxic chemicals to your body compared vascepa that comes from fish oil.

I have taken Vascepa for almost 2 years now (since it was available on the market). I take it for general cardiovascular health. Since taking the drug, my physical stamina for running and general exercise is as good as it was 15 years ago (I am in my mid 40's). My triglyerides were not high before around 130, but since taking the drug are now around 70. My physical and mental health have never been better.

Great results with Vascepa. My tigs decreased and other lipid parameters have improved substantially since I started taking Vascepa.
