I recently had bilateral cataract surgery, and my optomologist prescribed this medication for both pre op and post op usage. He prescribed four bottles of it, along with two bottles of Diclofenac, and two large bottles of Prednislone. I also bought a bottle of Tropicamide to dialate my pupils prior to surgery. I use three types four times a day until gone. Now I have good insurance, so only spent ...

This product is very, very expensive even with insurance. I have called the company and asked if they have a copay assistance program. They said no and they did not care that I could not afford the product. Doctors should not prescibe this product to their patients.

I use three types four times a day until gone. Now I have good insurance, so only spent $75.00 for all nine bottles, but if I did not have insurance, it could have cost me over $1500.00 for all of them, plus the surgery, which was only $30.00. Just goes to show, that if you have the money to pay for good insurance your vision gets correct, otherwise you're out of luck. Universal coverage anyone?Read More Read Less

$127.00 for a 2.5ml bottle of eyedrops. No generic available. Had to have it for cataract surgery. Fortunately the one little bottle was enough to have both eyes done. No complaints, I think it does what it's supposed to do but WOW! quite a price tag.

My mother was prescribed this drug for use after cataract surgery. By third day had ful like symptoms. By end of 5th day all joints in body ached. Feet were swollen, ankles were swollen, lower legs and knees were swollen. Went to Family doctor, and was tested for Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lyme's disease, given cortisone shots, sent for MRI, went to Vein clinice to test for Blood Clot. All were negative. She was so sick she had to have a walker to navigate around the house. No one had a clue it could be the eye drops. Sick for two months from first starting the drug. She is now back to normal and all swelling is gone. Doctors need to know this and warn patients, that this could be a side affect so patients are not spending hundreds of dollars on test trying to find out what is wrong.Read More Read Less

As stated earlier, this drug is EXPENSIVE, I had Cataract surgery, I asked my Dr. for something cheaper, his response was this is the "newer" drug, but that doesn't mean it is better, no studies have been done to compare. I have another Cataract surgery coming soon, he has given me "Ofloxacin" to try..Just because a drug is newer does not mean better. I paid 78.00, this one is 7.00! (with my insurance) Makes you feel like you don't care about your health to ask for something cheaper, thats not right.Hopefully this one is fine. YES, had that awful taste, but only for a while.Read More Read Less

I tore my cornea and my dr prescribed this to prevent infection: 3x/day for two weeks. Worked - did not get infected. But, I did get that odd side effect which WebMD lists - sour, bad taste in my mouth! Very bizarre! Eating afterward to rid mouth of the taste helps somewhat. But this drug did its job for me. Thanks!
