Have taken everything from Wellbutrin to Depakote to Tegretol and many others, nothing worked. Kind of leary when Dr. prescribed this sublingual, but the difference is amazing! I HATE the taste and when it dissolves it fills my mouth with saliva as well as numbs my tongue. I also hate having to wait ten minutes after to eat or drink. It's the worst part of my day. However, prior to starting this...

This medication was supposed to help with my bipolar mania and the hallucinations I was having and all it did was cause homicidal ideations to the point I wanted to hurt or kill my children. I don't recommend this medication to anyone.

Omg, what a life changer. The taste is not that bad, can't believe all the complaints. I have only been using one month but felt myself, alive, alert, happy, at day six. If this continues for me it will be my miracle drug after about 10 mishaps on other meds. Sleep is easy, dreams are amazing, not drowsy upon awakening.

Just started about five days ago. Taking 5 in morning and 10 at night. I have not had the numbness and to me it doesn't taste that bad. Makes me a little tired but still function fine. I was on limictal and had all of the side effects including the rash. Ended up in psyh. Ward for hallucinations. I was on a very low dose too.(25mg daily) this is not meant for bipolar and should be watched for these if used. If rash appears go directly to ER. This is deadly.

This medicine causes me to have vivid nightmares. I took it at bedtime, and every day, I was extremely high-strung and agitated.

I had to stop using saphris due to it started eating away at the skin of my lower front gums. Was very disappointed, because the medication was helping. The first med in a long time that helped without weight gain.

I was originally diagnosed Bipolar 1 in the midst of a mixed episode. My dr put me on a few different meds like risperidone, abilify, even zyprexa. The Zyprexa made me sleep 20 hours a day and I could barely function. Then we tried Saphris. Life changer! I am currently on 20mg at night and I can sleep well and wake alert and ready for the day. It puts me to sleep within an hour of taking it so definitely take it when planning to go to sleep. It has cleared my thinking, diminished the agitation and paranoia pretty well, and calmed my urges to hurt myself from the anxiety I was feeling. My dr recently changed my diagnosis to Schizoaffective because I was having some break through hallucinations even outside of a mood episode but upping the dose to 20mg has helped rid me of those for the most part. I haven't gained any weight and my appetite has remained normal. Now I have been at my current job for over a year when I was struggling to function daily before starting Saphris. I thank God that I have my life back and feel great on it along with 200mg Lamictal and 10mg Lexapro for depression. I wish the best to all who are trying this new med!Read More Read Less

It is a plain miracle med for me. It has changed my life. Mind has slowed without loss of sharpness, I feel so happy, virtually no side effects for me. Has made me have more of an appetite. Anger, irritation, impatience and poor mood virtually gone. My feeling of well being is amazing. Meds don't work the same for everybody but this drug has saved me.

Bipolar 2 with psychotic features I noticed an increase in appetite and gained 7 lbs in the first month on 5mg. Since switching to 10mg my appetite had decreased but I've developed muscle weakness, nausea, and can barely get out of bed I'm useless and afraid the side effects we'll become dangerous so I'm trying to wean myself off completely It did work very well for my mood and cleared the nasty depression wish the side effects weren't there or I'd stay on it

I was given this medication to help with Bipolar Disorder and depression. I rather like medications taken in this manner. Mine was flavored but it melts so quickly that the flavoring is a waste. I could handle the tingling but, as someone else said, waiting 10 minutes before drinking something is nearly impossible. I have noticed no difference in my non-sleep pattern; I was hoping for at least 4-5 hours of sleep but remain at my 2-3 hours. What I have noticed is that after taking Saphris I feel the way I think one must feel after going on an alcohol bender; totally drunk, bouncing off walls, and in a total mental fog that lasts for many hours. My psychiatrist gave me a trial packet of this med about two years ago, took a dose at bedtime, and the entire left side of my body went numb, I could not control any movement on my left side, my heart was beating a mile a minute, panicked all to hell, muscle contractions/spasms on left side of my body, I almost called 911, scared the bejesus out of me. Had my teen daughter sit next to me until about 2 hours later when I unknowingly fell asleep. This is not an safe drug!

My husband has Paranoid schizophrenia. He has been taking Saphris since October. It is like a miracle drug for him. He has gained a little weight but the trade off is worth it. He is able to go in public without me and volunteer at church. He is developing friendships of his own. He still hallucinates a bit but not like before. I have my husband back.

I have been taking Saphris for years and it is very easy to take, you just put it under your tongue and let it dissolve. I do this 10 minutes before I go to bed and it puts me to sleep right away and I always have a peaceful nights sleep. It has worked very well for my bi-polar condition. I take it along with Pristiq and Vivanse. I also take Topamax. I take 5mg. of Saphris, 100mg. of Pristiq, 40mg. of Vivanse and 100mg. of Topamax. Its the perfect combination. I take 10 mg. of Saphris in the wintertime. I was suicidal years ago but no longer feel that way and no longer feel depressed or have bi-polar episodes taking these medications. I feel great. I have started walking everyday and I lost weight. I am back in the life game. I have came a very long way over the last 4 years. Read More Read Less

First off, this tastes HORRIBLE. Worse than the one time I got gasoline in my mouth. Aside from that, the effect on my mood after 3 weeks was awful. I was constantly angry and combative. I do not like this medication at all and will be switched to something else at the soonest possible time.

I'm diagnosed at BP2, but have mixed episodes. Primary symptoms are depression and severe anxiety. Saphris is a wonder drug for me. I take 20 mg at night, because it knocked me out to take it in the morning. Anxiety is almost completely gone, and I feel like a normal person for the first time since I was diagnosed 12 years ago. I hold the tablets under my tongue without moving and the taste isn't bad if you follow it up with a piece of chocolate. Find I want to eat everything in sight once I take it, but since it puts me to sleep within 20 minutes, I don't stay up and eat. During the day, it doesn't affect my appetite at all, and I've lost the weight I gained on Seroquel,Read More Read Less

This drug helped me get to a place where I was able to address my underlying issues causing my anxiety and depression. I felt better within days of taking, like a weight had been lifted. I did get a bit spacey and manic for the first week or so until my body adjusted. I only take 3/4 of a 5mg pill otherwise I get a bit zombified on the whole dose.

I have bi-polar mixed. On Gabapentine which has helped my depressive side. Doc put me on Saphris for Manic episodes. The 5 mg dose at night was fine. A week after the 10 mg dose increase, I started to feel insane anxiety and depression. It is as though a light switch went off and everything was different. All joy for life is gone, the way I look at everything is clouded, dark, constant thoughts of death, meaninglessness, hopelessness...going off this drug!!! I will take my manic states any day over this unbearable feeling worse than any physical pain. I have never felt anything like this! Please let this not be permanent! Read More Read Less

I struggle with bipolar since I was a child. I am on 600mg of SEROQUEL XR at night was still not sleeping so doc added 10mg of Saphris at night. I also take 200mg of Lamictal am and 21,000mg of NEURONTIN throughout the day. The addition of Saphris has made a world of difference. I am sleeping between 6 and 8 hours a night, best sleep of my life. This addition of sleep has improved my mood beyond my wildest dream.

I started taking 5-mg of Saphris two weeks ago. This has been a miracle drug for me. I currently got left by my fiance' and was having a really hard time with it. I was waking up what seemed a million times a night with panic attacks and just crying, uncontrollably! Now, I take 5mg of black cherry Saphris about 15 minutes before I wanna go to sleep. Within minutes of it dissolves under my tongue and I fall asleep very shorty afterwards . My tongue does go numb but it doesn't last long. Thanks to this pill, I no longer wake up at all! Not until its time to get up. It allows my mind to rest and no more waking up crying. SO THANK YOU SAPHRIS MAKERS! GOD SENT!!!!!!Read More Read Less
