ER doctor told me to take it as often as I needed it for the pain in the top part of my stomach (starting of an ulcer) after treating H. Pylori. I continue to take this sometimes before going to bed at night or in the morning. It has always worked for me. I also take Prevacid once a day for reflux. I reccommended it to my neighbor and she takes it and it also helps her.

I'm sure this is an uncommon reaction to Mylanta but I thought I'd review it honestly anyway. I have taken Mylanta Double Strength twice and both times have resulted in very unpleasant symptoms lasting for an hour or two. Dizziness, muscle weakness and shaking, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, increased heart rate and sensitivity to light. All this and it barely had an effect on the heartburn I took it for before the side effects started. I will never take Mylanta again (the worst heartburn I've ever felt is easily the lesser evil to what Mylanta does to me). As stated, I'm sure this is uncommon so I'm not leaving this review to discourage others from trying Mylanta if they think it will work for them - I guess I just wanted to put this out there in case anyone else gets these symptoms after taking it and is Googling around trying to find the cause. The only common denominator both times this happened to me was Mylanta and they set in (and went away) after the same amount of time after taking it on both occasions.Read More Read Less
