I took Estrostep for over 10 years and loved it, but it was too expensive. 8 months ago I switched to Trilegest FE expecting it to be the same as EstroStep, but I have had horrible side effects. I experience full PMS symptoms during the blue pills (9 days): super moody, easily irritated, bloated, gassy, pregnancy symptoms, etc. I wish I could afford to go back to Estrostep.

Immediately after switching to this pill I began to break out everywhere on my chin and cheeks; I have never broken out on my cheeks before. This pill is absolutely terrible, I have cramps and constantly feel bloated during each period. Would not recommend!!!

I take this pill continuously without a break since I only need it for acne. It does a pretty good (not 100%, but maybe 90%) good job controlling the acne. But weeks into a new pack I get break through bleeding for several days.

Speaking as a 30 year old woman who has been on every single birth control around trying to find one that WOULDN'T cause break through bleeding (cuz this was a major problem for me being on birth control pills), I can confidently say I have finally found the answer. Every single BCP I have ever been on has always caused break though bleeding for me, but finally I have found the magic bcp. Tri legest has shortened my period from 5 days to three, I have absolutely NO break through bleeding, NO acne what so ever (some pills made my back break out horribly or get that one BIG pesky one on my face, but not this pill), and minimal cramping. I am so happy with this pill, and would def recommend it. Read More Read Less

Severe flatulence, gas cramps and mild constipation are my side effects. The fillers in this drug are doing something to me. I don't know if it's lactose fillers or sugar alcohols or what. I'm also a physician and I am aware that other drugs do not have the same effect on me.

This generic form of Estrostep is poor at best. Side effects include headache, bloating, eyestrain, fatigue, and weight gain. Doesn't help with mood swings some of us get either. Feel like it's working against my symptoms and I will be going back to non generic form.

Have been taking this for several months w/o a problem. Currently in Florida on vacation and cannot stay in the sun because I break out in a heat rash that is very itchy and painful. If anyone else has experienced this can they let me know as its wreaking havoc on my vacation. Thanks!

I took estrostep for 4 years before I had my son and then started taking it again after he was born. Ive never had problems with estrostep but my pharmacy started giving me the generic tri legest fe. I took it for 3 months and gained 13 pounds! That is alot for me since Im 5'2 and was 115 before that. I also was very gassy and bloated all the time. My stomach pooched out like I was 6 months pregnant. I switched back to estrostep so hopefully the weight will come back off easily.

This drug was recalled for paperwork. It is still available at pharmacies, they are not pulling it off the shelves (woohoo!) Apparently, certain lots did not include the paper insert. So, logically they were recalled. Your pharmacist should be able to fill your prescription by now. The generic is just as good as the brand name, but thank goodness, much cheaper.

I would like any information on the recall of this medication. I was told by my pharmacist that it was recalled because of paperwork....but I need this medication, because the brand name (this is the generic for Estrostep fe) is too expensive. Any idea of when I will be able to get this medicine again???
