I use OTC brand, less costly than precription form, Zaditor. Ease of use, very slight irritation each use, but goes away almost instantly. As long as I have a need for this medication, I will go with OTC brand.

This is my first year having seasonal allergies and boy did it come on intense. My eyes have been so itchy, irritated, and swollen to the point it was almost unbearable. I had tried OTC allergy tablets (Allegra, Zyrtec, Claritin) and was using OTC artificial tears – to absolutely no avail. Alaway has been my saving grace. Not only were these drops immediately effective, but they are keeping my allergies under control as well. I have to be pretty diligent putting these drops in 2x a day, but it is a small price to pay considering the state my eyes were in before. Would highly recommend to people who are struggling to find something that works for their allergies. I see in other reviews that Alaway causes irritation of the eye or near the eye, but I have not encountered this. Read More Read Less

I used Allaway for years and it worked fine for me. However, I developed an allergic reaction which caused severe dermatitis under my eye. I was trying everything to figure out what I was allergic to and never imagined it was the drops. I discovered it when I switched to Pataday for a month, ran out and used Allaway for one day. The next morning I woke up with the severe reaction again which took 3 days to clear up. If you have sensitive skin or hyper sensitive skin you may want to think twice before using this product. I had an alarming dilation of one pupil while using these drops. I luckily was able to see a physician who figured it out. Be careful!

I have had allergies for years and it took a long time for my eyes to stop itching once I took a oral medication. I found out about Alaway and I am so happy I did.

I have never used eye drops before and now I know why, but my cheeks do not itch anymore. I suffered for a couple weeks, my eyes were always itchy and red so I thought I would try...I was amazed. In minutes the itch went away and I had all day relief. Second day my eyes were itchy again and boom in minutes I could stop rubbing my eyes. I am buying a second bottle for the office. I feel a slight burn for a minute or two and some blurriness but within a few minutes I am truly happy.

I have late summer allergies (ragweed/ goldenrod) and last August I experienced allergic conjunctivitis for the first time. I tried several OTC allergy medicines with little relief. I found alaway in an online review. Combined with allegra my eyes cleared up in less than two days. I have used alaway all year when my eyes get itchy and it is very effective. My eye doctor has recommended this too, along with a $350 prescription eye drop. The $8 alaway has been way more effective without the side effects and restrictions on use the prescription drops have. I recommend this to everyone I meet with allergies.Read More Read Less

I have used Alaway or the store brand equivalent for several years for a problem with one eye that weeps on recommendation of my opthalmologist. It is usually very effective for the problem that I have which generally lasts for several days to a week. I have had no problems with eye pain with this product and find it easy to apply.

I have used Zaditor with great success, but the Alaway was less expensive so I tried it. The Alaway drops stung horribly: eyes watered, tears ran, nose ran. After recovery, the drops 'worked', but too much initial drama. I'm back to the Zaditor. Since both brands contain the same active ingredient, I've no idea why Alaway was such an initial assault.

This worked for me for about 1 week until I experienced vision problems and eye pain. I honestly thoought that I was losing my eye sight, and I am having trouble right now focusing; even though I have stopped using it for 2 days.
