Ambien works great for me, you should take it on an empty stomach, go right to bed, and you'll ease off to sleep, the only thing is, it only lasts about 4-5 hrs for me, but really do not have a problem going back to sleep on my own.

I havent experienced any hallucinations that other people have had, but dreams while on Ambien are really quite lucid, and extraordinary. No loss of memory, but slight groggyness in the morning only lasting 10 to 30 minutes.

I still have trouble falling asleep. Once asleep I wake fewer times during the night but still tend to wake up at least once.

This medication is a mixed blessing. My first time trying it, I was freaked out by the hallucinations- which also freaked out my son who slept on my floor that night because he was worried. I have gotten used to them and take the medicine and get into bed within 5-10 minutes of taking it. It works great! when combined with my lexapro i experienced mild visual hallucinations. it really never helped with my insomnia.
