My neurologist calls my condition benign tremors. Started with a very low dosage to adjust to the drug. I've been on a 100 mg dosage for over two years. The drugs works very well. No tremors and no side effects. Every drug should work this well.

Due to earlier posting pertaining to Phenobarbital; Mysoline "makes" Phenobarbital. Mysoline was one of the most effective medications for "Grand Mal" aka "Tonic Clonic" by due reasons of a stupidity of an HMO Insurance Neurologist (no worries, you are safe, this Doctor's license has been revoked forever, years ago) who destroyed Phenobarbital - Mysoline had to be discontinued. If it were not so, I would have taken it back in a heartbeat, had no problems with it whatsoever.

I started out at 25mg at bedtime and have been increased to 75mg 3 times a day with a target of 100me 3xday, I keep thinking that even tho I have an hour of less tremors 2-3 times a day, the tremors seems to have excellerated since I started the med. Has anyone else felt this way??

While a teen (33 Now) I would Fall asleep in school, come home 230pm Sleep by 3pm and wake up 7:30am for school. Could Not Concentrate even if I wanted too. Had Break threw seizures weekly and bled easily! Worst Medication in y opinion. I was switched to Depakote 500mg 2x daily and had 1 seizure since I was 16 because they tried taking me off to see if the epilepsy was caused by Puberty. Guess Not! Anyway known chemicals to bring on seizures are NutraSweet aka Aspertame. Diet Foods, Drinks and some candies have it so I would avoid it at all costs. Read More Read Less

Started Mysoline '79. Switched to primidone after 2000 due to lack of med coverage for Myso. Prefer Myso. On minimal dose 250 t.i.d. down to 125 t.i.d. in past few months. Only drug to date not allergic to. Have had 17 moribund cysts removed in 10 yr period ('80's), nystagmus (went away after 20 yrs.Vision better than ever). Have tendency toward Dupuytren's contracture of 2 fingers rt. hand prevented w/piano and harp playing. Only reason for wanting to switch off is due to supposed osteoporosis-no outward pain or symptoms. Need it in 100mg, 125mg and/or 200mg tablets. With new low dose am more relaxed w/ bubbly personality.Read More Read Less

Hiss medication relieved my tremors from a daily problem down to two or three episodes weekly which I consider unsatisfactory.
