I went on kelnor to get rid of my acne. I've been on it for four months now and I've experienced weight gain, mood changes, constipation and hair loss. I did notice and improvement in my acme but it hasn't gone away and ive decided to stop taking this birth control.

This product worked fine for the first three months, I was on it. I had no significant weight gain and it cleared up my acne. I went up two cup sizes, which was fantastic, since I wasn't working with much beforehand. The reason I was recommended this birth control was to help my hormonal breakouts and help regulate my period. On the fourth month, I noticed I was feeling really depressed and moody. I felt like I could cry at any second for no reason. I was not stressed or going through anything bad, I just felt sad for no significant reason. When my time of the month came around, those feelings of sadness went away. But now, since I started taking a new packet again, those feelings are starting to come back. I am considering switching birth controls because I don't know if I can deal with my emotions being out of funk all the time. Read More Read Less

My doctor recommended Kelnor for me as a birth control for prevention of pregnancy. so far it's done its job. I have basically had clear skin my entire life (w the exception of a pimple once in a while) but on Kelnor, I get tiny bumps on my upper chin area on my right and left side. I also notice some weight gain. I was on Kelnor for 8 months and my skin was great. I went off of it for 4 months and now I'm back on it again. My skin isn't taking too nicely to it. Maybe it just needs to get used it and then it'll be back on track.Read More Read Less

I took Zovia for several years. We moved to a colder climate around the same time, so I figured that was making my moods low. When my pharmacist didn't have Zovia in stock they gave me Kelnor. I felt so much better in less than a week, much more myself. I don't think I realized how much I overthought everything, down on everyone, easily annoyed, losing my cool, etc. My pharmacist recently ran out of Kelnor and there I was, back to hating everything. I will never go back to Zovia again. Kelnor is the one for me. I know that everyone reacts differently to medications, so this might not be the case for everyone. If you are not feeling yourself, overthinking, overanalyzing, not able to shut your thoughts off, try a different birth control.Read More Read Less

I used to be on Zovia and never had any issues, recently my medical center switched me to Kelnor. My skin has been super oily and I've been getting pimples that I haven't had in over 15 years. I've also been feeling extra tired and more moodier than usual around my menstrual cycle time.

I was prescribed Kelnor after trying a low dose of hormones that led me to constant spotting and increased migraines (atleast one per month where prior to that I had one in my lifetime). I was happy that Kelnor got rid of the constant spotting and my mood is stable (not wanting to snap on people and being moody). The occasional breakout around the last week of placebos but that was normal when I was on Loestrin 24, which I only discontinued because of cost purposes. Periods seem to be light while on this. I agree with the other reviewer. I just started my 3rd month of pills and I've gone from a C cup to a D cup, along with some weight gain around my midsection. I don't notice any other changes in body fat elsewhere. Unsure if this is due to my weight gain from 125-135lbs, chaotic work schedule, winter months = less active.Read More Read Less

Im already tiny so ita not the greatest thing but i know most women would love! Although it was nice because before this pill i was constantly bloated and now my belly is sooo flat! I know it sounds too good to be true but its not. I recommend it to anyone! The onlyyyyyy minor thing is dont miss a pill midway to end of pack bc you will start within 12 hours. Read More Read Less

Switched from orthotricyclen-lo after it stopped working for me (it had been fine for 5+ years). Kept on Kelnor for a little over a year, but should've really switched sooner. My life has been stressful in the last year, but not stressful enough to warrant the significant weight gain/keeping weight on despite strenuous exercise, mood swings, and acne that I feel that Kelnor has contributed to or not helped with. I go from manic states of happiness and excitement to breaking down at the drop of a hat, which is not how my personality was before I started. My boyfriend noticed changes in me much earlier than I did, and I finally decided enough was enough after seeing the emotional toll that my behavior was having on both of us and our relationship. It did get my periods down to two days, but I had bad cramping the day before and on day 1 of menstruation. It also did its main job - I did not get pregnant. Just starting a new pill regimen now, so we'll see how it goes. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Kelnor.Read More Read Less

I have to take a tapered version of this pill, because taking one pill daily is not stopping my period or the severe cramping. Which is nothing , because I was put on this after I had a d&c surgery , and blood transfusion. So I've had the works when it comes to correcting my natural hormones. I am starting my taper today with kelnor- 5 pills today, 4 pills tomorrow , 3, 2, and then 1 daily. I am hoping it works. I have severe anemia , and am hoping to get pregnant within 6-8 months , after I have high enough hemoglobin to go off the kelnor. I was told to skip all the sugar pills each month. The end of July , I will take a CBC and May be able to have a 4 -day period if my hemoglobin is high enough. Here's hoping kelnor can do its job!Read More Read Less

I've been on a few different birth control pills which have not worked out for me for different reasons, but so far I have used this one for 5 months and I'm really satisfied. I work out consistently so no weight gain, my acne has cleared up a little (noticeable to those close to me at least), and no pregnancies so far (crossing fingers). I have missed a pill a couple times, and my periods have remained consistent and veryyy light. I never really got cramps or mood swings, but my periods were always unpredictable before I began this pill. Great price, great experience so far. Read More Read Less

i just had to write a good review on this one cuz i saw so many bad ones... ive had many problems with birth control in the past.... i have extreme cramps... so much so that it basically makes me nonfunctional... i also experienced mood swings like you wouldnt believe and the pill i was on before kelnor i actually got pregnant... but all of that decreased with kelnor... i usually take it remotely the same time every day but sometimes it does very and ive never experience any problems... i still do have cramps and mood swings but they certenly are not near as badRead More Read Less

The only reason I did not give Kelnor a full 5 star review is because it is a pill you must take at the same time every day, and because I have experienced mood swings, depression, anxiety, headache/migraine and occasional spotting. I have not ruled out that it defiantly is or isn't the Kelnor causing these problems, still just making connections. Otherwise this has worked great form me for two years! My periods are light and cramping is much better, acne has cleared up a lot too!

I missed one dose and within hours started experiencing symptoms, such as heavy bleeding, bloating, mood swings and increased appetite. I have never had these problems when using other oral pill contraceptive brands.

This birth control is cheaper than the others I was on, cleared up my skin! And shorter lighter periods as well. Only side effect might be that I put on 2 pounds. But I will take it!

I was put on Kelnor by my doctor to treat my Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and to regulate my period. So far I've experienced some side effects, during the first few hours after taking the pill, but nothing that lasted for too long or anything too severe. I've noticed a change in my skin and mood, and sleeping has become more restful.
