I was diagnosed with GERD a year ago. Nexium 40mg worked fine for me but I chose to stop taking it when news came out about that class of drugs affecting the bones * I have borderline osteoporosis. Zantac 150 works ok for awhile, then one day I get a severe headache, stomach ache, nausea that last for entire day SO I skip taking Zantac the next 2 days but start again the day after. I have been taking Zantac 150 for a couple of weeks, and it is very effective. I had been taking prescription medication for acid reflux, but was concerned about recent FDA annoucements that those are bad for your bones if taken too long. So, my doctor suggested that I try Zantac instead. I take it 30 minutes before my morning coffee, and 30 minutes before dinner at night. I am pleased with ... Show Full Comment
