Ihave been on 3 different types of birth control for "21" years! I started when I was 18 to control my periods with Ortho-Novumm 7-7-7. In my 20's I tried the Depo shot and it worked well with and was convenient but expensive. Now that I am getting older, I am on Lutera and have been for over a decade and it is considered a ver low dos pill. The less estrogen as you get older, the better. The...

I started Lutera a month ago after switching from Trivora. Immediately my mood lifted and I stopped being so ravenously hungry all the time. I gained 15 pounds on trivora. So far I feel so much happier although I did have some breakthrough bleeding but that was expected. I seem to have a bit more acne, but as long as my moodiness is gone then I'm happy with it.

I've been taking Lutera for going on 6 months now. I haven't had really any problems with it. I missed one pill and then spotted for two weeks (until I got my period). The doctor said that was normal. And after reading other reviews, I've noticed that many had problems with moodiness, sadness, or anger. I definitely noticed this. I figured that was just me being stressed, but I've been trying not to be stressed and doing things to help that and it's still not working.

I only took Lutera for one month back in April 2008 and here it is October 2008 and I still have not had my cycle. It made me emotional and tired, I as well had tender breasts (started within the 2nd week of taking the pill), so I decided to take myself off. With those symptoms, I felt like I was pregnant. I am not at all satisfied w/ Lutera. I go today to my OB/GYN today and fixing all of this. I moved from CA to TX and thats why it has taken me six months to go back to the doctor.

I have been on this BC for about 2 years now. Within 2 weeks, I noticed a change in my mood. I started to cry more and I was much more anxious. I thought it was just the stress I was going through, but now I'm starting to wonder. I've never reacted to stress before like I have since taking this medication. I have also experience a very decreased sex drive and vaginal dryness. Well, I'm certainly not going to get pregnant while on this pill now am I. Don't get me wrong now...I have enjoyed having a regular, much shorter period. I used to get my period once every 2-3 months or so and never knew when it was coming. Now, I can tell you almost to the hour and day when I am getting it. Read More Read Less

I've had such horrible headaches that they make me ill. Also been getting very tired around nine or ten at night, when usually I fall asleep around one or two in the morning. I've been crying so easily, and I feel somewhat paranoid that I'll never feel the same as I did before I started taking this BC.

Changed BC Pills due to severe migranes on my last BC Pills. I have been on Lutera for two months, first month, migrane was not as severe, no acne breakouts, breakthru bleeding the first month, felt like crying for one day for no reason at all but that went away and my breast are so tender. I am going to stick with it and see what is to come the next few months.

I've been on Lutera for over a year now. The positive side effects I've noticed is that my skin is clearer, and my periods are more regular. On the other hand, I've experienced a decrease in sex drive, trouble sleeping and anxiety and moodiness. I'm not sure if these are solely the fault of the pills, but I am going to look into alternatives with fewer side effects.

This is the 3rd month taking lutera and I started out well the first 2 months, I been abnormal with my period and taking this BC has helped me become regular. I am now on my 3rd month, but in this case I been having constant headaches that won't go away. I have contacted my doctor(gyno)to let her know what has been happing while taking the pill, she said it's not common for me to have those headaches the 3month and not the 1st two months. She suggested for me to wait throught the weekend and if those headaches don't go away I will have to see her to change the BC pills. Everything else seems normal to me.Read More Read Less

I started taking this medication and a week and a half later, I cried and cried over nothing! Today is Sunday and I've been crying since Thursday. I had to leave work early and also had to leave church early today. On top of that, I cant get in touch with my doctor until Monday! I'm just so depressed now but for no reason!

I've taken it for atleast a year or two, and so far so good. My breasts are sore a lot of the time, I'd say about a few weeks out of the month, which sucks when I'm running or when my husband wants to be a little rough with me, but I don't mind it that much. I have had bleeding every once in a while during sex, I heard it's not because of Lutera but just because birth control pills in general do that. Doesn't really bother me since it only happens on rare occasions and isn't too much. I have been moody with anxiety and mild depression, but I don't know if that's because of my past or lutera. I've been on the patch and another pill (don't remember which) before, and these are way better than both. Overall, I'm very satisfied.Read More Read Less

i started taking lutera a year ago and it works great. my periods are not as long as thry were before maybe three days and it has helped with my migraines. I rarely get them anymore. it also helps with my breakouts, im seeing them less frequent. This is probably one of the best birth controls ive been on.

I've been taking it for about 2 years. I previously had been getting Depo shots for many years, and switched after the calcium-deficiacy warnings hit the media. I also skip the last week of pills, and hardly ever get any breakthrough bleeding. In fact, sometimes I don't even bleed when I should be getting my period, but maybe that's to be expected, since I had not had a period at all during the years I took Depo. No side effects either with Lutera, it's simply a pill I take each day.

I originally started taaking lutera b/c my mom is morally against accutane. since taking lutera my skin has gotten somewhat better. My only real side effects have been tenderness and swelling of breasts (which isnt so much a bad thing i suppose). I also occasionally get headaches...but that may just be circumstancial. Yea so overall its all gravy for me.

Every since I started Lutera, i have experienced on going breast tenderness, shortness of breathe, numbness of hands, pains in my arms, and severe cramping. I wish the manufacture never changed products. My previous BC was a gem, now I feel like something is really wrong. Diffenately will be changing BC ASAP.

I have been taking Lutera for about 6 years except for about 2 year time frame when I choose to stop to become pregnant. Overall I don't really have anything bad to say. The only problem I tend to have is if I don't eat when taking the pill at night I feel queasy the next morning. Otherwise I have had shorter periods, less cramping and not as moody as my pervious bc.
