The absolutely horrendous withdrawal symptoms I am suffering now clearly outweigh what mediocre benefit it gave me and I only took it daily for 3 months. I have currently been weaning myself off of it for over a month and have been completely off of it for 4 days. The debilitating headache I suffer from each day is joined by constant nausea, terrible sleep, agitation, inability to focus, inability t ... Show Full Comment

I've been taking the generic brand of Cymbalta and it is bad. I am very suicidal and whenever I become really happy, I lose it in a matter of seconds. I am quick to react before thinking it through. Overall I feel it's messing with my brain big time.

Comment:
The only side effect I have with Cymbalta is urinary retention. The biggest side effect is trying to come off of it. It doesn't work so much for easing psychological pain as it does for easing physical pain, which is counterintuitive to its mandate. I highly suggest using a SSRI in conjunction with Cymbalta as it only works fairly well for depression and anxiety.

Comment:
I have been taking Cymbalta for at least 10 years. It has been a life saver for me. It works. Unfortunately, the generic duloxetine does not, & I can't afford the brand. I am in the process of finding another drug which I hope will work as well.

Comment:
I have been using this drug since it first came on the market in 2005. The results were almost immediate, and I have been using Cymbalta ever since. I recommended it to friends over the years, and they are all feeling much better from it as well.
