After 4 years, The leg pain and muscle aches in my legs were no longer worth the reduction in total Cholosterol to 160 from 315. It made me a 54 year old cripple with the legs of a 90 year old.

This drug took down my levels, but after a few months, I could barely walk from the pain in my hips and legs. I felt like a 90 year old crippled and I'm 50. I had to get off the meds, it affected my bones and muscles terribly. I'm very active and this drug kept me bed ridden from pain, and lack of desire to move.

I have experienced Alzheimer’s type symptoms (forgetfulness, trouble remembering common every day used words, confusion, etc.) over the two years that I have been taking Vytorin. I heard recently that Statins can cause this. I am a heart attack survivor (age 53) and Vytorin has lowered my cholesterol significantly. I am concerned about stopping the drug (do the benefits outweigh the symptoms?). Know what I mean? Has any other users experienced this condition?

I have had other statins but this one works very well, for me, blood sugar in control as well as cholesterol, no side effects that I've noticed.
