I don't like the side effects (constipation, achey muscles) but I'll put up with them because Vytorin works.

I just started with Vytorin 10 days ago, so I don't know what the results will be. But I am ready to throw it away; I have developed a horrible metalic taste in my mouth. It is so distracting, not only does it affect my appetite, but I spend the better part of the day trying to find ways to get rid of this taste. This, combined with a new allergy med have also created a very tired feeling, that...

The medicine has been extremely effective for me. The only issue is that Anthem Blue Shield will not pay.

I have been on vytorin 10/40 for almost 1 year and my levels have been very good but lately I have been experiencing lower back pain and very very tired and also elevated liver count.I didn't take it for 2 days and i felt great, started it again 2 days ago and all the lower back pain and severe tiredness is back. I am calling my Doctor and I will not take another one, ever again, there has to be another way.

After taking this medication for about a year, I developed extreme muscle weakness. I ended up losing control of my legs... I was put in a wheelchair....at this point, Dr. took me off the drug (a bit late though)and now I have some strength back...I have graduated to a walker..this drug can be extremely dangerous if not closely monitored....look for an alternative

I have severe muscle or nerve pain in my legs. After taking tests to check my muscle, the doctor doing the test said it was neurapathy due to statins. I have not taken any statins for several months. At first my leg pain got much better but now I have a balance problem and think it is due to the statin drugs. I had taken several others before vytorin but they all affected my legs. Am going to have an MRI April 19 of my lower back. I am taking Lovaza but am sure my cholesterol and triglyderides will be off the chart when I have my next blood test. Just what damage do statins do to muscles and nerves.Read More Read Less

I've been taking this drug for about one year....I've been achy, really achy...and couldn't figure out what was going on... I stopped one week ago. My body feels better, but coordination is totally messed up. How long will it take for this medication to be out of my system? I have a job that required heavy problem solving...and now I'm screwed.

I have been on Vytorin 10-40 for several years. It has worked great on my cholesterol but the muscle aches is getting worse. I know it must be this medication because, I stopped taking it for a month and the aches in my back stopped. Now I'm back on it and the aches has started again. I don't know which is worse to have high cholesterol and maybe die of a heart attack or live a little longer aching with muscle discomfort. I also tried Crestor with the same effects, well maybe worse.
