This drug is dangerous with lifetime permanent side effects. If your doctor prescribe this to you make sure that he or she (doctor) are expert listener with side effects. When you feel any kind mussel,’s pain STOP this drug immediately or suffer a lifetime of severe complications’.

Stomach pain, heart burn, insomnia. Switched to this from Lipitor for less side effects. Just changed to different side effects.

I had dramatic results lowering my cholesterol 100 points, which was important with my family history. It does affect digestion and can result in some flatulance.I do feel somewhat lower energy, muscle aches, and have trouble sleeping most nights.Exercise and staying active helps with depression and irratibility.

My cholesterol has dropped from 200 a year ago to 100 in 3 months my dose reduced to everyother day. After 9 months I began to get facial bumps, and then acne-like rashes on my face. Two more months have gone by and I have large red, dry, patches under my eyes, and severe itchy of eyes, cheeks and nose. I have been taken off the drug now. I don't think I'll use it again.

At first it was a miracle, my cholesterol went from 200 to 142 and stayed steady. Over the course of the next year I developed blisters on my arms and shoulders that were large, itchy, crater-like and bled frequently.Abdominal pain, strong smelling flatulence, uncontrollable bowel problems. No libido, depression, and swelling of my legs and feet. Neuropathy of both feet. And,totop it off, 2 doctors told me it was stress. I have stopped the vytorin 10/20 1 month ago, abdominal pain and all the rest is gone, the arm sores are healing, I am waiting to see how things go. What scares me is the doctor has already suggested another statin for me to take...Should I or sould I wit?Read More Read Less

Ldl started at 196, took Vytorin for 3 months and LdL was 99. Some weakness, but seems to offset, by staying active and walking at least 2 miles a day. Feel much better.

This was the first time I had taken a drug for high cholesterol/triglycerides. After the first week or so, my joints and muscles started getting sore. They continued to the point that I could not get out of bed without help from my husband. My feet felt like elephants were standing on them, and my knees felt as if a saw was cutting through them. My PCP took me off Vytorin after 25 days, and I spent a week in the hospital recovering from pain, liver damage, and an eosinophil (a type of white blood cell that is normal at 350) count that was almost 17,000. I would caution anyone taking any of the statins to stop immediately and contact their dr. at the very first sign of muscle or joint pain. I also had a terrible acne-like breakout on my chin, and painful sores in both sides of my nose. I ended up being examined by 9 different specialists before the final diagnosis was reached.Read More Read Less

I am a 43 old male, I have taken Vytorin for over 2 years. My overall cholesterol is lower, but my LDL is still high and my HDL is low. This 2 enzyme drug is not effective in this respect. A primary reason for this medication is to lower the LDL levels, and raise the HDL level. It is critical to understand your overall level to see what madication fits your profile.

I have used this drug over a year now. The only side affect was depression when taken in the morning. This subsided when I started taking it at bedtime. Otherwise no side affects at all.

Vytorin does not work as advertised. My levels always come back high no matter what the dose is. Makes me very lethargic. I think the only way to lower your numbers is to watch what you eat and exercise.

I thought I was getting bad sinis head aches. They were so bad I would cry. I pain went from back of my head to the front. It was debilitating. I stopped taking the Vytorin 1 month ago, and I haven't had a head ache or a sinus problem since.
