Mild infection. Took meds for the 7 days prescribed. Cleared infection. 9th day chills & stiff back. 10th days hives. I think this is a delayed reaction. Doing OK now. Will avoid this med in future.

After getting possibly the absolute WORST UTI ever, in constant pain...and after a 3 day urine culture, my PCP prescribed me Macrobid, 100 mg twice a day for 7 days. I took this pill with 8 oz of water AND with a full meal. at every dose. I had no side effects, thank God. After about day 4, the sting of death finally subsided a bit, and after day 7, I'm pain free. Everyone is different. Some people are more sensitive to medications than others. The majority of the UTI antibiotics out there side effects suck to some degree (I've had them all). This medication took longer to relieve my infection, but it was worth it (for me). Be well everyone:)Read More Read Less

There are a lot of bad reviews of this drug but I didn't experience any issues. I had a horrible UTI and got this prescribed to me. I took it twice a day for 5 days 12 hours apart. My only issue was swallowing the pill because it is pretty large (but I have issues swallowing pills of all sizes so it's a me problem not a problem with this drug haha). Overall, I was feeling better within 24 hours and recently finished the course and feel great.

I was afraid to take this medication because of these reviews, but I had absolutely no problems. I took 2x a day for 5 days. Use as prescribed (take with food and twelve hours apart!) I had no side effects and it resolved my UTI.

The side effects of this drug are almost immediate and extreme. After just 2 pills, I have chills, chest pain, nausea, no energy, dizziness and a basic inability to function. I will go to an Urgent Care to get a prescription for Cipro, because I cannot and will not tolerate these side effects when there is another antibiotic with substantially less side effects and is readily available.

The symptoms did improved on second day, but then all side effects started... At first I didnt read any description about this antibiotic, because I really didnt feel well and wanted to feel better. Ive never take this antibiotic before, and didnt know about this heavy sides effects... Anyway, On second day I felt joints pain, and other flue like symptoms... Going to see a doctor tomorrow to switch that on better antibiotic with less side effects ... (I hope)

fairyforyou2003's review is much like mine -- by the third dose, horrible side effects. Felt like what they say on COPD commercials, with flu and stomach bug added. Freezing in July in GA, so much pain in my chest, with a deep cough, severe fatigue and pain everywhere. So nauseous I could not stay hydrated. Feels like I have a kidney stone now.

Although it seemed to work on the infection it is not worth the side effect. I took 3 pills and have had the most excrutiating headaches! I cannot even function. Even now after more than 36 hrs of taking nothing. This drug is torture.

I been taking this for 3 days now for my UTI . The first day was fine symptom seem to be fading away .. but the 2 and 3 day was the worst. I started to get very dizzy and nauseous and I was getting very weak and tired no energy. The worst came when I started feeling my feet tingling and my legs was weak! It scared the heck out of me! My heartbeat was pounding really fast and started sweating I thought I was going to die!! I called my husband and told him if I didnâ??t get better I need to go to the ER. Iâ??m not taking anymore cause I truly think this will kill me! What is this? One day iâ??m This healthy active person who exercise on 3 to 4 time a weak and now I feel handicapped. I am so glad I came across the other reviews. I really thought I was getting the flu! After taking for 48 hours I started feeling dizzy, fatigue, nauseous, very constipated, headache, weak, and shortness of breath. Luckily I have only 2 days left. I was prescribed 10 pills to take for 5 days.

I took this medicine for a UTI faithfully for 7 days. 2 days later, the UTI was back with an excruciating vengeance. I thought it was odd that I had never heard of this antibiotic before; according to my lab tests, this barely kept the UTI at bay. I am now on Cipro, which I know works to remove a UTI for me. Best of luck; I do not recommend letting your doctor or an urgent care subscribe this awful medication to you.

I had a UTI for 2 days so I decided to go in to urgent care the doctor prescribed me this medication. I took my first dose that night felt super nauseous and it up going to bed super early then woke up in the morning took another dose and all day I have been shaky clammy nauseous and had a little annoying headache. I want to keep taking it to make my UTI bacteria go all the way away but I don't want to feel like this anymore. Overall I believe my body in this medicine are not friends.

I am taking this for a UTI. My doctor prescribed 100 mg twice daily. I have had no serious sides effects. Initially, I felt a little tired but all antibiotics make me feel that way. I am on day 6 of 7 and feel a great improvement. My doctor advised a probiotic in addition to prevent a yeast infection. I had a slight headache the first few days I took this but the more the drug worked the more the headaches dissipated.

I got really sick for two days after starting this medication. Headaches, nausea, chills then diarrhea. Don't know it it was flu or not since 5 days prior I was around someone with the flu, taking them soup. Still have mild headache but ibuprofen helps.

After taking the first dose, I started feeling better. There was gas to put up with and then some diarrhia. I took some probiotic and that helped. One more dose to go and I am good.

My UTI was active for 3 days before I sought treatment and it has been the worst UTI I've ever experienced. After taking this medication I felt no relief until the UTI was gone, 5-7 days later. It made me sick to my stomach and tired.

After being on this medication for a few hours, my symptoms began to ease. However, after being on this medication for 24 hours, I started to noticed extreme fatigue, dizziness, nauseous, and over all not feeling well. After being on this medication for two days my head began to POUND intensely, very nauseous, elevated BP (No previous BP elevations), very glittery, shortness of breath, pounding heart, etc. If I knew what poisoning felt like, it would surely be this! Most horrible experience ever and still feeling residuals - fatigue, weakness, pounding heart, headache, difficulty breathing, nauseous, BP still elevated. Hopefully soon this will go away soon. For me this medicine could be deadly Read More Read Less
