I have been taking this medication on and off for about 2 years. I was constantly thinking and worrying that even my cheast would hurt! i felt like screaming at the top of my lungs, i was crying (not depression just frusterated) and bad headaches and would make up stories in my head"what if this happens" kind of thinking. I took Buspirone 5 years ago for anxiety attacks. I just recently went back on it for similar reasons. The side effects are bad when I take a whole 10mg pill. I break the pills in half and take 5mg 6 times a day to lesson the side effects. It seems to work well doing this way. I don’t think this is a drug that you can feel working right away. I have been on this medication for 2 1/2 years and had very little anxiety at 40mgs. twice a day. I suffer some nausea with the evening dose but compared to the addictive properties of benzodiazapines I am trmendosously satifisfied with the results of Buspar.
