I've been taking this for a couple months and am pretty satisfied. I take it at night because I sometimes experience nausea with medication. I experienced three side effects: breasts swelling (went from a c cup to a d cup), vaginal dryness, and extended periods. My periods are now more regular, but I went from three days to five. For those who sometimes forget to take their pill, I suggest an app ...

I started taking this just a month or two ago and I am already having bad side effects, for one, I've had a full on period for three weeks now, I even skipped the period week and went straight to my new cycle. For two I keep getting super nauseous some days, I don't even want to move. Three I've been getting blurred vision like crazy and massive migraines hat have me in tears. Was on ortho tri cyc...

It is going on 3 months, I take BC to treat PMS symptoms. The first month was hectic, nausea, vomit, very sick. That point has passed. Now it is a little weight gain, acne, and bleeding between periods. I do think everything will be alright after the 3rd month. (My fingers are crossed, I don't want to gain weight)

I am writing as a parent of a 20 year old daughter. she was on Loryna for a couple months but the mood swings, uncontrollable crying and bf fights that came as a result were serious cause to stop taking it. visits with the doc and counselors were necessary and after a 2-3 weeks all calmed down. She was put on this instead and in 2 weeks time we were back to the same behaviors but worse. she felt like she was in an altered state and was found one night in an abandoned parking lot with a knife. Serious warnings need to come with this drug. Thank God she was found by caring friends and it all came out ok but we had several more days of endless worry until she came home from school, some 900 miles away. Read More Read Less

My pharmacist switched me to this medication from Ortho tricyclen low, which I was not happy about to begin with. Considering the cost went from free to over 600.00, if I wanted the brand. Therefore, I tried it. I began experiencing fatigue and extreme mood swings and no patience, which is rare. I was snapping at everyone. Also, retaining water and cramping mid month. I just returned from Obgyn, who called it "junk" and immediately put me on something else. I thought I was losing my mind. I am so relieved that others are experiencing the same symptoms. This product is terrible.Read More Read Less

So, I have been on this medicine for about a week and I have felt pain in my abdomen from the gas, I feel constantly nauseous, dizzy, and have had horrible mood swings. As soon as I finish my three months I am getting my prescription changed.

This birth control is absolutely horrible! I used to be on Trinessa but I had to switch pharmacies and CVS put me on this because they didn't have what i used to take. The pills made me have extreme mood swings, to where i was constantly fighting with my boyfriend and getting irritated easily. I lacked motivation to do any day to day activities which is highly unlike me. I also have been eating nonstop and craving abnormal foods. My breasts have swellled. Basically it's like having the symptons of your period constantly. i originally got on the pill for not only birth control but to regulate my heavy periods but this isn't worth it. if i can't get a different pill, i'm just gonna stop taking this because it's that horrible. In case anyone is googling this medicine to see if they are the only ones with crazy mood swings, you're not! My mood swings are beyond crazy when I am taking active pills. I feel so bad for my boyfriend because I go into a sobbing fit over every little emotional thing. I am very much looking forward to when I can switch which pill I use.

I started on Tri-Sprintec, which got more generic and turned to Tri-Previfem, which got MORE generic and now I am on this. The first few months were rough.. mood swings (crying at literally nothing), nausea, loss of appetite and I gained like 10lbs, but I welcomed that gain. After I powered through those first few months, it was great! My periods were finally regulated and everything went back to normal. It's been almost three years for me now. I say try it out, and keep in mind no matter which pill brand you try, you're basically guaranteed to have a rough first few months. Just push through for at least three and then consider changing if it does not improve. I'm writing this because it's not all bad... remember, the majority of people only write reviews when there is something to complain about. :)Read More Read Less

I started taking this product due to 2 years of abnormal and irregular periods. I started this birth control as just a method to ease the monthly menstrual cycle, bu it included the benefits of reduced acne, less cramping, and an obvious decrease in blood flow. The down side to this medication is that over the past 2 years I've gained almost 25 lbs.. My diet doesn't regularly change and I'm an active high school student. Other than the weight gain, this is a decent product for the use of regulating periods, as it isn't a high dosed birth control.Read More Read Less

After taking Loestrin for six months to help with my ovarian cysts, regulate my cycle, and have a birth control, I took a break before I started a new prescription of BC, since the Loestrin did nothing to help regulate my cycles. I have never had any troubles with acne, hormonal weight gain, or worsening of my depression while on birth control, however with the Norgestimate Eth-Estra tablets, I have broken out all over my face, chest, and back. I mean, it's awful. No area is safe on my body from the acne. I'm also constantly swollen in my breasts and belly, even though I've lost my appetite. I guess the only plus that I've had with this prescription is the massive boost in sex drive that has both me and my boyfriend thrown for a well-enjoyed loop. It's only my first few weeks of taking this prescription, so I'm willing to wait it out, but if the breakouts and depression get any worse, I will be definitely switching to another prescription.Read More Read Less

It's Wednesday and I've only been on this pill since Sunday and already I've had diarrhea, nausea to the point of throwing up, and anxiety. Let's just say I don't plan on taking this pill another day.

I am a 22 year old female and am on my first pack of this birth control. Both my family and boyfriend have notices mood changes in me like snapping and getting angry, which it out of character for me! Also, I am extremely constipated and have trouble using the restroom. I've noticed a darkening of my urine (which is a listed side effect), so I plan on calling my doctor this week about it.

While this pill is effective and easy to use, I have noticed random mood swings that are out of character for me, increased fatigue, and some hair loss. I think it has definitely had an effect on my general mood and I'm looking into switching ASAP.

I took this for about 2 years, it was my first birth control. And for the first year or so everything was fine. But more recently i have noticed my moods a week or two before my period are awful. I'm extremely emotional along with slight depression, which is very unlike me. Even my boyfriend commented on it and that's when I realized it may be the pill. Maybe only upside sex drive increased. But otherwise I'm now switching to Lessina hoping it will be different.

This pill has been working fine for me, except I noticed a sudden hair loss without any explanation. Used it for 6-7 months and now loosing hair for about 2-3 months. Wonder if anyone else has the same problem on this pill. I am going to do some more research and considering switching back to my previous pill. Some of the side effects of this pill actually do say is hair loss:(

I was on another generic for Ortho with no side effects and even helping with my acne, but when I switched pharmacies, they gave me this. An insane amount of gas occurred right away and huge swelling of my abdomen, thighs, arms, cheeks. I'm a small, fit woman and didn't change my diet or exercise. I'm stopping after this pack!

I'm 17 and I've only been on this pill for two months now and before I had very painful periods that physically made me ill and cry in pain(and also for birth control also just not trying to become a teen mother). The first month I took it i felt sick, headaches, nausea, everything and then my period was just as bad as it was before I started. Now my doctor did say that it might not set in until a couple months, but this is just my experience so far. I've also noticed I've been extremely moody and just angry, I've been fighting with my boyfriend over stupid things and just feeling angry with no release and that's not like me at all. It's messing up my relationship with him as well. The last and worse thing is before I rarely ever everrr get acne but during the last row of my active pills I woke up one morning with two painful pimples on my face and that's unlike my normal self at all. I don't recommend these pills, especially to teenagers that are still trying to balance hormones.Read More Read Less

I've been taking this drug for 2 months now. I have noticed my sex drive has gone threw the roof (wich is a plus for me & my bf) but unfortunately thats the only up side. I experienced icreased eating, specially with chocolate. Ive experienced little acne, also my wieght has gone up wich is dissapointing and odd since i was loosing the baby wieght. but as soon as i start taking this drug i gained 10 lbs. Also experincing bad mood swings like fatigue & snaping at loved ones. Im going to give it maybe another month or finish the pack then switch birth control or stop taking any.Read More Read Less
