I have in the past dealt with nightmares from being shot, being knifed, being in a car bomb and being attacked on guard duty. I am being clinically followed at a VA hospital. This drug, at 1mg, has taken me from being a person that screams at night, waking up my wife, cold sweats and torrid sleep, to now having a peaceful night of sleep and wonderful dreams.

Was recommended this drug for nightmares. Although it did prevent nightmares, I had every negative side effect known, including spells of fainting, extreme weakness, lightheadedness, and nausea, forcing me to miss several days of classes. The doctor had me stop taking the drug after the first day, so I can't vouch for how the drug works over time.

I started taking this for my nightmares and PTSD and while it doesn't fix everything, and I still find myself staying up late unable to fall asleep, once I do get to sleep I don't have any nightmares and sleep through the night. I had dizziness when I first started taking it and occasionally I'll get a bit lightheaded but otherwise, it worked great for me.

After two nights of taking it, I started getting more nightmares and sleeping terribly. Five days in and I've had the worst anxiety attack I had ever had in my life. I know meds work differently for different people. This medicine has definitely not worked for me. I am in the process of recovering from the attack and sleep deprivation.

This drug has stopped my night terrors and nightmares. Helped me sleep sometimes. Although it has given me incontinence which I really hate and also I am unable to achieve orgasm anymore. I don't know for sure if this drug is causing it but I think it is because of it being a blood pressure thing. So am thinking of stopping it altogether due to these side effects. Its not worth it peeing in my bed every night and no sex drive anymore.

I have suffered for 4 years with PTSD/nightmares until prescribed this drug. I have been taking this medication for 5 months at a dose of 7.5 mg. at bedtime. The nightmares are not as vivid and an able to cope much better. I do, however, have dizziness/lightheaded spells on occasion that I have to be cautious of.

Helped significantly with disturbing images while awake and major sleep disturbance. Was able to sleep without night terrors for the first time. Took about a week to notice difference. Can cause dizziness but goes away.

I havent been able to get a prescription lately due to insurance issues but when I am able to be on it for a stable amount of time it really seems o work, and i thought nothing would work for nightmares at all. Overall pretty good medicine!

Has significantly decreased my nightmares, and also has lowered my blood pressure. I was skeptical a medication would work for nightmares... It lowers my blood pressure and blocks the adrenaline that increases P.T.S.D. related nightmares/night terrors.
