I have in the past dealt with nightmares from being shot, being knifed, being in a car bomb and being attacked on guard duty. I am being clinically followed at a VA hospital. This drug, at 1mg, has taken me from being a person that screams at night, waking up my wife, cold sweats and torrid sleep, to now having a peaceful night of sleep and wonderful dreams.

I have chronic nightmares and night terrors and have been taking this drug for 2 years now. I reviewed the side effects list for this drug and realized that Pancreatitis was one of the rare side effects - I was hospitalized last summer for Pancreatitis and nearly died. I also noticed that when I ran out and couldn't get a refill on it, the nightmares became even more severe than before taking the medication. I am wondering if anyone has tried anything other than Prazosin.

Taken to help with nighmares...makes me incoherent and totally off balance. Frequent falls, no sleep, loss of judgement, argumentative. NOT a good thing for me! Do NOT mix with any alcohol.

Prazosin has greatly decreased my nightmares and flashbacks, however I would suggest both a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy as well.

I have never slept so well without a nightmare or constantly waking up. In aid with counseling my ptsd, agoraphobia and social anxiety have been improving.

Been on this medication for 5 months. I had severe vivid nightmares with night sweats. The nightmares have subsided as have the night sweats. They haven/t gone away completely but at least now they are manageable.

For me, the edge was taken away from the nightmares. They used to be very vivid, with terrifying outcomes. Not so much now. I fight sleep less.

I just started this not very long ago and initially my nightmares decreased in both intensity and frequency. I'm on 10 mg at night, but I think I might need to go up to keep the benefits of it going. I am having some issues with palpitations, but it might or might not be related to this.

I was switched from Flomax to this as a cheaper generic by my insurance, but it doesn't work. I'm back to very frequent urination and very sudden onset of symtoms.
