i found that if i take it about 30-45 minutes after eatting with the 8 oz. of cold water, that i'm relatively fine, however, taking it on an empty stomach in the morning made me terribly nauseated and nothing helped stop it for about an hour or two. it's really helping clear up my skin when tons of otc stuff didn't.

Severe pain in stomach. Tightness in chest. Tingling in hands and face. I'm 17 years old and thought I was going to die in my bed. Went to emergency and was told to immediately discontinue. These symptoms lasted for another three weeks. I was terrified it would never end. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT

My dermatologist recommended this medication for acne. The first 2 days he was fine, but on the third day small rashes started to break out all over his body. My whole body itches and it's horrible, I haven't even been able to sleep well because of this. I've had an improvement in my face, but I don't even know if it's worth it. I've had horrible nights and I want to take off my skin.

Taking it for cellulitis caused by spider bite. Took down the swelling after a week. Made me light headed, nauseous and seeing double when watching TV also shortness of breath and unable to sleep. Had to stop it before I finished the pills but will be seeing the doctor tomorrow.

So, I had been taking 50mg x2 times daily, for about a month, for folliculitis and rosacea. While it has cleared some of it up, around 2 and a half weeks of taking this medicine, I started having severe depression and suicidal thoughts, when I really did not have any reason to feel that way. I do take an antidepressant daily and generally am in decent moods. The depression lasted a little over a week, until I stopped taking the medication for a few days and my mood improved dramatically. Started taking it again, and the severe depression came back. So I wouldn't recommend it if you have a pre existing mental health condition, even if you are on a medication that works wonders for you. Read More Read Less

my very first intake I immediately vomited, and, I didn't think anything of it because I had recently eaten and I took the pill with plenty of fluids. my the second in take, it settled and within minutes I was nauseous, and I lost consciousness, my body jerked and my left side twitched for hours I had reoccurring muscle spasms in my neck and all on the left side of my body. This happened in December 2022, my left eye hasn't stopped twitching I'm sure it's a neurological problem, I have also had constant migraines since. Read More Read Less

Eye doctor prescribed this medicine, I believed to clear up any infections prior to LASIK. I did not have any issues or concerns prior to visiting the doctor. Was give a 30-day supply with 3 refills; 100 mg. I've been taking for the past 19 days and have had stomach pain every day - I assumed it was hunger pains due to intermittent fasting but the pain doesn't go away after I eat. Also have been feeling very fatigued. Had more energy even when I was fasting. Today, is the 3rd or 4th day with mild headache which is what caused me to start looking at the reviews. With only 11 more pills to take and the fact that I'm not having the LASIK done until the summer, I will not be taking these anymore.Read More Read Less

I was put on Doxycycline Hyclate 100mg for a sinus infection. I took this medication morning and night with food and an entire bottle of water. I did not have any side effects from this medication. It helped my sinus infection, however, it did not cure it. I returned to the doctor after two weeks and was prescribed a different antibiotic for the sinus infections. Overall, no problems from this medication.

I am a 57 yr. old woman who suffers with a plethora of medical conditions and have NEVER been prescribed Doxycycline before. Anyway, had the flu and pneumonia shot, but to my surprise woke up (working on a month ago) feeling even worse than the norm (probably due to my BAR FLY of a roommate) and proceeded to take every over the counter med I could get my hands on. To no avail, YEP you guessed it, NONE of them worked. So I decided that I would take the only thing that does, (because apparently everyone in my area is also ill, along with my roommate and I can't get an appointment with my doctors), Lovofloxacin 500 mgs. twice daily for 7 days usually does the trick. However, this time it was also a FAIL! Imagine the disappointment. SOOO, very long story short, finally got in with Primary Doc and prescribed another round of Levofloxacin. Only to be disappointed yet again! Rapping up, Pulmonologist sneezed me in and prescribed Doxycyline 100 mgs twice daily for 7 days along with steroids for Pneumonia. 3 days in, feeling better (when awake) but can't shake the deep cough or headache. Phlegm no longer looks like MUD and my skin has NEVER looked better! Very itchy, hands cold and cramping but I will take over the horror I've read regarding stomach nightmares! So sad for everyone with such adverse reactions and on the other hand very appreciative for all your honesty!! Wishing ALL that this too shall pass and better days ahead!!Read More Read Less

I was given this antibiotic to treat a currently undiagnosed issue. It was thought that whatever is causing my chronic fatigue might be solved with this. It apparently isn't bacterial, but I'm sure the medication is effective when properly prescribed. I will say that this medication caused nausea. I rarely have side effects and this one was pretty bad. Taking on an empty stomach is not a good idea.

I’m just so happy to have found an antibiotic that I’m not allergic to and that I have ZERO side effects from. Just take on a full stomach with a full glass of water and Iv had no problem at all. I’m taking for a sinus infection, only on day three but pain is less, temp is gone and it’s all looking good. I can even breath through one nostril again.

Ive tried: empty stomach, wait an hour and eat - empty stomach, eat 10 minutes later - ate, waited 2 hours then took it - all have given me nausea and stomach discomfort. I've basically been giving myself pep talks with my face in the toilet saying "youre not gonna throw up" over and over until the feeling passes. Usually an hour o an hour and a half after the initial onset of nausea ?? Calling today to get this changed. It worked though - I'm taking it with prednisone and cough medication to clear up a nasty sinus infection that has caused the left side of my gave to be in theobbing pain and I couldn't even chew on that side it felt so bad. It's worked, no more face pain, but I can't handle this either ): I'm a kindergarten teacher and don't have the luxury of being near a bathroom all dayRead More Read Less

MRSA in total hip replacement (interior infection, not exterior); culture did not return before revision surgery to debride, irrigate and replace ball. Have been on Doxy for five years now (on for life right now), twice a day (1-2 hours before breakfast & 3-4 hours after dinner) and have had no issues. MRSA is kept at bay. But I do burn very quickly in the sun!

I have been diagnosed with a terribly itchy upper body rash called Gover's Disease and am taking it along with several salves and lotions. I'm told it can last 6 to 12 months and hopefully ends sooner.

My dermatologist prescribed this medication to prevent infection after a basal cell carcinoma removal from my nose. After three days while taking the recommended dosage I begin to experience headaches. A few days later I had itchiness on the top of my feet and all over my chest and stomach area. It has been 31 days since I finished the seven pills of doxycycline and I have had a headache every day since . . the itching is almost gone, but still present. I have had very few headaches in my entire life!Read More Read Less

Main reason above is wrong, wouldnt allow me to proceed without entering something) I am taking this medicine because I developed an abscess under my breast (not on). They had me take the pills and after i was done with them all - 10 days, had to take a 2nd dosage- 14 days/capsules. This medication makes me so tired, sluggish, groggy. It also makes me nauseous and Ive been eating and following what they advised I shouldn’t drink/eat. The abscess is clearing up but this pill is really sooo very strong. Be careful taking it. Found out not to take on an empty stomach as I did starting out early in the morning. I would be nauseous and spit up lots of clear liquid for about 30 min.

I finished my 100mg twice a day dose for one week and I’m having side effects. While taking it I was nauseous, drowsy and really weak. Now, I’m having muscle soreness and dizziness. I don’t even know if it cured my cervicitis. I’ll have to check with my doctor in 4 weeks time but I’m still having burning around my urethra area after I pee so idk.

I’m only on day 1 of 7 for an STI, im very surprised to see people taking it on an empty stomach. This article does suggest it but my doctor strictly told me NOT to take it on an empty stomach or I’ll have stomach issues like diarrhea or just general pain. She also told me no dairy products.
