I was prescribed this drug by a Brain & Spine specialists, following an auto accident which further aggravated my spine & neck plus created additional, new damage including ligament damage, herniated discs, and pinched cervical & spinal nerves. The overall body pain (joint, nerve, muscular) was so strong & constant for 4 months I could not sleep. The Spine guy prescribed this as a muscle relaxer...

When I read the side affects, I was like, why would anybody take a drug that has these side affects? Massage, exersize and a chiropractor helped me. Still working on feet. Alternative medication for me!

I found when I do take this medication I have to make sure I have nothing to do or I will fall asleep standing up.

Trying to come off low dose Xanax after 12 years was impossible for me. Then I got a Dr who gave me baclofen & gabapentin and they took away the withdrawals immediately. Without them, I would be an alcoholic or a drug fiend. In hindsight, I should have tapered on them. I'm on 20mg twice a day and Ive been able to cut back some on it and the gabapentin.

I had a total replacement of my TMJ (facial joint) and was left with nerve damage/trigeminal neuralgia and spasms/pain in facial muscles. I was placed on 1800 mg neurotin but it did not do the trick. Baclofen was added to my medicines and I have shown almost complete improvement with drowsiness, a slight headache, and leg cramps. Sounds bad perhaps but the other pain was unbearable.

Prescribed baclofen when I had told the ER doctor I didn't want to take an opioid drug. My primary care physician said baclofen wasn't really a paint medication. I was needing something for the pain because of a fissure. My specialist had prescribed Lortab which is an opioid drug. The lortab didn't really do anything to control the pain while baclofen does and lets me sleep at night.

MS and spinal stenosis in neck and spine. horrible arm, neck, leg, facial pain- all day and night. this medicine has been a Godsend. I feel about 50% better than I did the last year or so within the first few days. I am looking at disc replacement for C3-7, spinal widening and fusion in the near future. My pain specialist prescribed to me. I had never heard of it. Fairly annoyed my Neurologist did not offer this the last 6 years as an option, it would have helped immeasurably for my quality of life as a young mom and wife. I went from marathon running, yoga and dancing often to almost none of those. Now, I am excited that I maybe able to faze some of that back into my life. Also glad the risk of dependency is not a concern. My only complaint...(and it is so mild I don't even care) is that I feel a little dizzy and nausea, but has faded quickly as I've adjusted. I am truly grateful for this product- its giving me my life back.Read More Read Less

i was trying to recover from a bout of trigeminal neuralgia and the meds i was on [trileptal & neurotin] were causing me to have minor jerks in my arm muscles. i mad the error of saying this to my neurologist who gave me baclofen. i had to start out at a very low dose and work up to the full dose over a month's time. at the end of the month ALL my major muscles were in spasm and it has caused almost permanent damage to the pirformis muscle in my left hip [as this was over a yr. ago and i am still suffering]. the neurologist said she had never heard of it doing that and sort of shrugged it off ! but i will never take this drug again.Read More Read Less

I started out on 10mg in 1992 - am now on 60 mg. It is very effective - allows me to sleep pretty well without spastic legs.

I was forced to change from flexeril to this medication by my insurance company. After taking this medication for just two months I was extremely weak, confused, slept constantly, short of breath, dizzy, depressed to the point of suicide. I also experienced nausea and vomiting. I had been taking cyclobenzaprine for years with no problems. If it hadn't been for my ill Golden Retreiver, I know I would have attempted suicide. There was no one else to take care of my beloved dog, so I suffered. I was so confused two days, I forgot to take the baclofen. My confusion cleared enough to realize that it might be the baclofen. I went on the internet to find that I made it out easy compared to a lot of people. Since when are insurance companies allowed to dictate Rx to people that are auto immune, have extensive drug allergies, and are not even consulted. Actually, anyone for that fact. Sounds like a deal between an insurance company and drug company to me. Read More Read Less

ONE 10mg pill put me OUT for TWO days and NIGHTS, NEVER ever would risk taking it again. I can see what part of this drug can cause such a powerful reaction. When I did get up I was dried out like a prune. Had to start drinking small amounts of water, and work up to 16oz glass in a weeks time, they should condem this junk.

Very drowsy, sometimes feel sick to stomach but would rather feel these than how I feel without the medication. I though might ultimately end up getting the baclofen pump.

The overall body pain (joint, nerve, muscular) was so strong & constant for 4 months I could not sleep. The Spine guy prescribed this as a muscle relaxer, and it worked! I take only 10mg at bedtime. It takes the edge off and I'm largely now pain free. Another benefit other than pain relief is that the left-sided muscle twitches at bedtime have subsided (similar to RLS, only the arm is involved too), and it mellows me out nicely. Side-effects in me is increased urination & occasional loss of balance. I can live with this. For me, the drug has been a great relief.Read More Read Less

I have MS for 20 years. Been taking Baclofen 25mg x 5 or 6... 125 to150mg per a day to reduce spasticity and help me walk. Too many gives me visual hallucinations and am tired but that is MS anyway. Can't imagine being able to bend anything without this drug. My legs and shoulders are still very stiff
