My doctor prescribed me this drug. This is the first I have ever taking antibiotics or any type medication. During that time i develop this indescribable itch all over my body. soon after that i developed hives, swellings and then lesions all over my body. What was worst, my doctor didn't follow-up with even after I told about my reaction. My skin is ruin, i still have lesions on my skins.

Cipro makes me very lethargic which I thought was unusual considering it is not listed in the side effects. However, it is worth it. The pain went away almost immediately.

The medicine worked in two days, but I developed a weakness in my thumbs and could not hold anything in my hand. Fortunately I was out of work for a few days and thought I had left the medication at work, and did not get to take the full dose before I found out that many people had lost complete use of their limbs from using this medication. After about a week of not taking the drug, the use of my thumbs came back. I am convinced that if I had continued on the medication, it would have done much more damage. My doctor said, that if 95% of the patients benefit from the medication, it is considered safe and for me it did cure the UTI, but look at the other damage it was about to do. I would never take it again.Read More Read Less

My intentional issues are better, but now I have nerve pain, joint pain, ringing in my head, brain fog, tendonitis, vision problems, hearing problems, numbness in hands, can't walk, can't exercise, have to be on special diet, I'm not the same anymore! Do not take this medication, it can kill you or disable you! I can't work anymore!Praying to save lives!

After taking it for ten days it gave me urinary retention. Reports show many had this problem and had to have a catheter installed for about 36 hours. Took a few days for everything to clear. NOT WORTH TAKING. Should be removed from market

I had this prescribed for an inner ear infection in Bali. A month later I got severe tendonitis in my elbows. Unaware that this could've been caused by Cipro it took me nearly 2 years to get it under control! Strongly recommend against it if you have another choice.

After a UA culture, was informed I had enterobacter aerogenes. My Dr prescribed Cipro and it did its job in clearing up the UTI. How it comes about I don't know but thank God for doctors. It works (Cipro) very well, despite the minor side effects.

I´m mentally so messed up and absent due to this medicine, that despite reviewing it twice to add a bit that I forgot in my previous review, I, by mistake, on both occasions ended up giving it full stars!

I forgot to add in my review, if you´ve taken this medicine, God forbid, then do not take another antibiotic or an NSAID pain-killer for the next six months at least. Again, avoid any antibiotic from the class of Fluoroquinolone or Quinolone, even as eye or ear drops - any form!

Tremors, anxiety, panic attacks, brainfog, insomnia, intolerance towards many foods, medicines, vitamins and supplements, concentration issues, light sensitivity, heart palpitations, difficulty in reading and understanding, spells of severe depression, weakness, fatigue, delayed and slow reactions to situations and questions, spells of memory loss, - despite taking it 14 months ago! It has destroyed the abilities and the intelligence of a poet, an intellectual thinker, a guy known for witty replies and unmatched sense of humour and timing. This poison has changed the personality of a guy named Rawal Afzal - myself that is! Avoid drugs from the class of Fluoroquinolone or Quinolone. These have destroyed many people´s lives, if you Google it! There´s a whole term coined by the name of "Floxie" or "floxed" for those who´ve become a victim of this. I curse that it´s banned some day!Read More Read Less

Took this medicine for a kidney infection, and I have felt worse than before I started taking it. I missed a whole week of work and my Kidney still has a infection. I have had night terrors, vomiting and nausea,a fever and chills. I actually prayed for death that's how bad I felt. I will never take this ever again.

Although it cured the bladder infection several times I believe the side effect of getting peripheral neuropathy happened to me when I was in a run down condition. I will not ever take this med again.

I was only able to take 1, 500mg pill for use of a UTI, leftover. It made me a little sick to my stomach but I felt no UTI symptoms, immediate relief as soon as the pill kicked in. Went to doc today and was prescribed something else, a little disappointed, but the duration and effect of ciprofloxacin was amazing to me.

I've had chronic recurring Prostatitis for the past sixty years. Of all the treatments I've received, Cipro has been the most effective, especially in terms of providing relief for longer periods of time between flare ups. However, the typical ten day prescription is not sufficient. It usually requires twice that amount of time to put my infection in check so that it doesn't return in a few weeks.
