I have had uric acid stones for two decades, and have had 16 lithotrypsies to break them up! After seeing countless specialists who could tell me nothing, I accidentally found out my body's acidic levels were off the charts... though my uric acid was normal. IN an effort to alkalize my system, I started a heavy regimen of Citra-K potassium citrate, four packets a day and my Ph has gone from 4.25 ...

This medicine is intolerable. I spilled some on my finger and it actually burned. My stomach is so sore, I can't eat.

After seeing countless specialists who could tell me nothing, I accidentally found out my body's acidic levels were off the charts... though my uric acid was normal. IN an effort to alkalize my system, I started a heavy regimen of Citra-K potassium citrate, four packets a day and my Ph has gone from 4.25 (deathly acidic) to 6.75, almost normal! That's a huge jump, which I hope will slow the formation of those acidic stones. Too early to tell yet, since I have been on the regimen for only 6 weeks. We'll check the kidneys in a year, to see about that effect. The med tastes a little odd, but it's certainly better than another lithotrypsy! I have to be absolutely consistent, not skipping doses, to maintain the alkalinity at normal. You can check you own PH with teststrips at a pharmacy or online. If you have uric acid stones, do it, because none of my doctors bothered to check! Read More Read Less

I get kidney stones at least once every 2-3 months so my doctor prescribed this. This is the WORST medicine I have ever taken. It has helped slow down the growth of my stones, but has given me severe bloody diarrea, horrible stomach pains (I haven't been able to eat it's been so bad) and I have wanted to literally die. It's great for the kidney effect but not for intestines or colons. Now I have to go to the gastroenterologist to figure how to fix the offset of this medication. I'm only 21 years old and way too young to have this many problems!Read More Read Less
