My doctor recommends me taking this shot for a common cold. Is this correct, I have been told it is not for that?

I am being treated for MRSA received in the hospital after surgery. I had to have another surgery 3 1/2 weeks after my surgery to clean the area out. Now my husband has to give me an infusion of this every day for at least 6 weeks. CDC is involved and sends out one week's supply for us and they are the ones that will need to clear me. This rates down pretty low in my estimate!

Right away I started sweating it out. The next day I felt so much better. I also had to go back and get a second shot since I had severe pneumonia with asthma.

Husband got strep infection. Complication after having prostrate removed due to cancer. Had a series of 2 shots (one in each hip) for 10 days. Rocephin mixed w/lidocaine. If this had been me; I would have been in tears by day three. Husband was a real champ - never complained & infection appears to be gone. His only other option w/have been to be put in hospital - so this was best solution.

Was given shot of rocephin for an abcess on march 9th, by march 13th abcess was not any better, had to go to surgeon to have removed, on march 24th still not much better, went back to surgeon, apparently the shot didnt absorb into my body like it should have and formed an abcess that I also had to have removed, so now I have 2 large holes in my back that have to be packed twice a day until they heal, make sure that your nurse shakes the shot really well before injecting you and that she also adds some lidocane to it so it wont sting as bad.Read More Read Less

Took rocephin iv for lyme disease, worked wonders. Had an injection for a sinus infection, within 30 minutes my muscles and joints began to ache. I hurt for 4 days. I lift heavy weights and workout all the time. I couldn't lift a milk carton.

I had an upper respiratory infection and the beginning of strep throat. The short didn't hurt and I felt fine, it didn’t really make feel any better. After about 5 1/2 to 6 hours later I had extreme / sever diarrhea. Worse case I have ever had in my life!! I would not recommend unless it’s a last resort. The diarrhea is worse then the origional conditions.

My one year old was given an injection of Rocephin after being diagnosed with a recurring ear infection. He suffered a pretty severe allergic reaction. The next morning, he had a rash all over his body and could not hold down any food or more than a few ounces of formula. He had diarrhea prior to the shot, however it became severe the next day. I took him to the ER and he was given Benadryl for the rash and Zofran to stop the vommiting.

Had this shot when I had MRSA. I was on 3 different antibiotics when I got the injection but the pain went away and I started feeling better the day after the shot. It does hurt when they give it but it's well worth it since it works so well...

received one dose in ER. Went in because I was having trouble breathing. I had had a minor cold for 4 or 5 days, woke up that morning and could hardly breathe, It came and went all through the day, and around 8 pm I couldn't breathe again, and went to the ER. I was diagnosed with a middle ear infection and bronchitis. They gave me the Rocephin injection for my ear and a steroid shot for the bronchitis. It worked wonders. Within a couple of hours, my ear had quit hurting and the swelling had gone down. Read More Read Less

received one injection at dr. office of this for symptoms of strep throat/infection. Went home and back to bed , upon waking throat was no longer sore and I felt much better. In about 2 days the white pussy crap was clearing up back there. They diluted with lidocaine but it still hurt in my opinion. Hate to imagine what it would have been like without the lidocaine. YIKES

I had a VERY severe soft tissue infection in my face. Received one shot of this medicine and within 12 hours I began to feel better. Dr. put some numbing medicine in with the shot and I experienced no pain. This medicine saved me from having to be admitted to the hospital.
