After taking this for 4 mos. yesterday I had to go to the er. Severe leg cramps and also severe abdominal pains. The leg pain is so bad I can barely walk today. The er said to stop taking it but I'm scared to try something else.

my husband takes it and complains of fatigue (every day) and back aches and being stiff. Plus, his personality has changed. I would prefer he not take it. He may not live as long, but it would certainly be more pleasant!!

This is the second cholesterol med I have been on and both have terrible side effects. I have been taking this for 2 weeks now and I have severe headaches, muscle aches, chest aches, lower back achs just about every inch of my body aches. I quit yesterday and will not subject my body to any more! What good is low cholesterol when I can't walk, dance do anything without being in pain. END OF ... Show Full Comment

I have been taking this medication for years. At one point due to insurance pressure, my doctor switch me to Lipitor which I took for several years which resulted in severe muscle pain. My cardiologist switched me back to Pravastine and the muscle problem was greatly reduced.
