Was so sick with vomiting and diarrhea. Ended up being hospitalized for 2 days. Horrible experience.

I have been on this medicine for a few weeks now and so far it has really seemed to help with most of my symptoms! I am so glad that my rheumatologist prescribed it to me and took me off the awful steriods that caused terrible mood swings. I consider this medicine to be my saving grace.

I've been on plaquenil for almost 6 years now. Although it took a few months for it to kick in - and during that time I still had to be on Prednisone. Once it did kick in I noticed an immediate difference in my inflammation and other lupus symptoms. I have not ONCE had a +ANA since starting the medication. Hence, my lupus labs have been SO stable! Comment:
After 6 months on the medication I got horrible bruises. It did not alleviate my hair loss, but I had just the one bad side-effect.
