I kept coughing for months and was treated for a cold, etc. I read the side effects Dr. changed bp meds and the coughing eventually subsided. Dr. never questioned why I was coughing so much. I figured it out by reading.

I'm a 52 yr old African-American female. I have bouts of extremely high BP. As high as 170/100!! Unfortunately Dr's are pulling straws trying to fine what will work best for me. I've been on Alpha/Beta blockers & now ACE inhibitors. I'd like to know why would my PC prescribe this med for me knowing full well that it Is NOT the best choice of ACE inhibitor for black ppl? My blood pressure skyrocketed to way high. Dr. put me on Lisinopril 10 mg. and told to take it with the rest of my morning meds and I would get migraines constantly afterwards. I then took it 2 hours AFTER my morning meds and that stopped the migraines. I drink tons of water (which seems to help with cough), AND changed my eating to cut out as much sodium, fat, sugar, etc., and added lots of fr ... Show Full Comment

this is one of four meds i take but all in all i always seem to have stomach pain but i looked it up and all the other meds cause it as well. From time to time i get dizzy spells but it has lowered my blood pressure stil iffy though
