I started with 10mg at night in combination with proscar. Doctor has now increased the drug to 20 mg. a bit dizzy in the AM but not getting up at night. Prostate was very large and started on proscar in Dec which helped lower my PSA and the size of my prostate with some undersireable side effects on the sexual side but i was at a point where urinating in the morning was very dificult Is anyone else out there taking 20 mg per night? Everything i have read on line indicates dosage for 2mg up to 10 mg anbd i am double that should i be concerned? Doctors are not always right so i am asking the question. As far as possible prostate cancer i have had two biopsy in the past 5 years both negative and my PSA remains in the 3.5 to 4.6 range for the past 8 years. Taking 2mg daily for 2 months with Amlodipine and have experienced significant decrease in BP. Can only use in evening due to significant dizziness and occasional headaches. Coincidentally, I was recently diagnosed w/ prostrate cancer and while frequent urination was not an issue, have noticed more intense urination during night.

Until I started this drug, I had problems with ED. The drug seems to have worsened the condition, in that it causes premature ejaculation. When becoming aroused, the eaculation function of the prostate seems to be uncontrolable. I have had ejaculation even before sex and cannot stop it. Needless to say, it brings an abrupt end to the sexual encounter. This happens even though I am taking 100mg of Viagra. Can anyone offer a suggestion?

Initially, on a 2mg dose at bedtime, the drug worked well. Some dizziness in the mornings. I'm taking it in combination with norvasc 2.5 mg. I've been experiencing dry mouth, funny dreams, and weak breathing during sleep. Been waking with morning headache.

just not sure, if every worked, toke it for years. now the Doctor is taken me off the medication. I thinking that it may have been a waste of time.

I have been taking 1 mg of terazosin for going on 5 years now..I have had great results for the first four years and now I am getting headaches, pain in the back of my knee and the knee itself. I thought it was because of my walking and exercise but the less exercise I do the more it is hard to stand on my legs for long periods of time. Any suggestions?

i now can sleep all night with out going to the bathroom,and my sex life is great again.

Started in July 2010, has helped a lot. still get up a couple of times a night to pee.Some nights not at all.During the day it has been great. At times shortness of breath, but was splitting wood at the time. Taking 5mg. from the start.

This drug seveerly complicated cataract surgery for my husband. What is the exact effect this drug has on the eye.

drug worked fine at 8 mg per day (4 2mg caps) Switched to 10mg for convienence, (1 cap per day) Suddenly, drug is less effective. Is it possible that a drug can be LESS effective at a higher dosage?

Started on Flowmax with very bad side effects. The worst was the retrograde ejaculation. Switched to Terazosin. No side effects at all urination much easier, and I sleep through the night most of the time.

I have Interstitial Cystitis and have been taking this drug (5mg)for many years. Before this, I couldn't empty my bladder without bleeding. I have had no side effects, must take it for the rest of my life but at least I can empty my bladder and sleep like a normal person. Very please with it. Started taking it about 10+ years ago

Helped with sleeping all night but knocked for a loop during the day. Extreme fatigue, short of breath. Stopped taking after one week.

THE ONLY PROBLEMS I HAVE WITH THIS MEDICINE IS THAT MY ANKLES SWELL
