I started taking 1 mg of Estrace a day in 2001 after a complete hysterectomy to combat hot flashes. I am now 60 years old and still feel 49, with no grey hair! No side effects whatsoever.

I've only been on this med for 2 weeks and will remain on it for 1 month just to be fair and allow it to work its way through my system. Side effects, yes, one: body aches. I'm a runner and hiker and this tiny pill is proving to be a pill. Because I know my estrogen level is low, I will give it a fair shot. I just don't like when anything interferes with my workout regiment.

It was very effective in relieving my vaginal dryness but I had to stop using it because of the side effects. I began experiencing vision problems and became intolerant of my contact lenses. It took a lot of research to figure out that my eye problems were caused by the Estrace. I have stopped using it and my eyes are back to normal.

I am 45 and had an eblation at age 40 which terminated menstruation. Started having hot flashes, dizzyness, feeling frail six months ago. Mentioned these symptoms to my doctor and he started me on this and it is like a miracle. I feel GOOD. The only drawback is the pill looks almost exactly like xanax, i really have to check and double check that i am taking the correct pill.

I had a partial hysterectomy when i was 22 years of age. I am now 35 and I just had to have an oopherectomy (removing both ovaries due to cysts on my ovaries and 1 was in early stages of cancer. Since i've had them removed i was started on Estrace "Estradiol" right away. when i first started with the pill everything went really well. mood swings are much better. I still have worries about the bone loss i've already had. for the past 5 years my estragen wasn't right. I am dealing with degeratative disc dease. and arthritis in my lower back.Read More Read Less

I had a hysterectomy due to fibroids and SEVERE mood swings. PMDD?!?! I put that name to shame. After my surgery and being put on Estrace my life has changed for the better. I'm no longer hormonal, angry, depressed, suicidal. AND I have no side affects. Not one!! This was the best thing that could have happened to me.

I had a hysterectomy last year and needed some hormone replacement due to hot flashes and mood swings. The drug has worked well with those symptoms but have caused weight gain and swelling of limbs.

I have been on this drug for approx 90days and it has alleviated up to 95% of my hot flashes but I still have little sex drive, also I have recently been experiencing dizziness to the point that it scares me to drive. I am going to stop it for a few days and see how I feel, if no change then off to the docs I go.

I have been on the medication and now I am having hot flashes really bad - alternate between hot and cold. They occur day and night. Worse problems since I started hormones. I am going to change right away after contacting my physician.

At age 50 I had a radical hysterectomy and began estrogen replacement therapy. Seven years later I had DCIS (non-invasive breast cancer surgery) and was taken off my estrogen for seven months. I elected to start it again and had been fine. Last year I stopped, thinking at age 67 I was past needing estrogen. WRONG!! Insomnia, warm flashes, mood swings all came back. Just started back again on 1mg 3 times per week and looking forward to feeling better again soon. I'd rather live 10 more years feeling good than 20 more years feeling like I've felt for the past few months. I've been cancer free for 10 years and have yearly mammograms. My doctors say the benefits outweight the risks. Read More Read Less
