This works great with bacterial conjunctivitis. If you have viral conjunctivitis, it won't work. As most people are aware, antibiotics do not affect viruses.

Proceed with extreme caution if you are prescribed this. There are two types of pinkeye, and for one of them this stuff will take your pinkeye and then make it 100X WORSE. Sadly, the doctors basically just assume you have bacterial pinkeye and prescribe this as a default - akin to flipping a coin. And they make no mention of what will happen if they guessed wrong. My eyes went from bad, to worse, to HORRIBLE. I finally had to just stop taking it completely before I felt it would make me blind. The drops made my eyes more swollen, more crusty, and FAR more red. Throw this away.Read More Read Less

This drug might kill bacteria but at what cost? It made my eyes itch, burn, hurt, red, swollen and really crusty and goopy. Pink eye was a joke in compare to side effects of these drops. I felt so miserable I had to stop it. My guess is this drug is a really bad eye irritant. There are better options out there (ex: tobramycin).

WASTE OF MY $4!!!!!!! Started taking this on 09/10/20114, my eye began to burn after second use. I thought a bug had flew in my eye because I was outside. The coach saw nothing in my eye. This pain lasted for about 5 minutes. Woke up with crust in my eye this morning and eye itching terribly. Decided to look up product and came across this site. Saw all the terrible reviews, called Dr. immediately to have a new prescription sent to the pharmacy!

I thought I had pinkeye because my eyes were red, draining, and crusted shut in the morning, but when I went to a patient clinic the MD told me it was an eyelid infection (Blepharitis). The first med they gave me, an ointment called Erythromycin-did absolutely nothing. Then they gave me the Polymyxin B sulfate solution to be used in coordination with an oral antibiotic (Bactrim). Cleared up the redness, itchiness, and swollen eyelids in just under a week. I had no burning or worsening redness while using this product.Read More Read Less

Had a eye infection ( clear liquid bubble like ), MD was not sure what exactly it was so this med. "takes care of bacteria and allergy, try it". Three applications and it burns, gives me a headache and feels like I have contact lenses in my eyes. Not helping, and redder than before. I'm going back to the doctor. Thanks to previous comments, I feel justified in doing so.

First dose at 1PM, hurt eye immediately; second dose at 5PM, hurt much worse, not sure it was supposed to relieve red but it did not, only got worse. Called and have another med to be picked up (don't have drops yet so not sure what the product is) but found this feedback helpful. Seldom do you find an eye product that produces pain rather than relieves pain.

Dulled the redness from the pink eye but made my eyes hurt worse. Made the top of my head hurt and eyes felt swollen afterwards. My eyes also burned and felt more irritated. Actually had to use systane to make my eyes stop burning from this medicine. I have never had a med do this to my eyes so I stopped taking this med after 2 days. Called dr and got a better med. Be careful with this one!Why are they using this?

This medication is AWFUL. My redness is worse after four days of use. After reading the other reviews, I'm not sure how this med stays on the market!

Effective? It supposed to kill the Bacteria with the trimethoprim. So, good, kill the Bacteria! But, what if it's a Virus. Drops will not kill this virus! got Herpes meds, instead and that kills a VIRUS. Z pack...will get the pink eye out, not the drops. Since the comments and reviews are just terrible, yes; we know it hurts and can't go to work, I'm going to come back and continue with my comments and let everyone know how the herpes meds worked!

After I started using this my eye got worse. Have been trying 3rd day now. I will try to make it until Monday(this is Saturday),if not I will have to go to emergency room tomorrow. With all these negative reports, why are they still prescribing it.

I had pink eye in both eyes. It took 48 hours before I noticed any positivie results from taking these eye drops. As soon as it began somewhat working, I got intense burning and pain in both eyes. Each time I applied the eye drops to my eyes, the burning worsen. My day 4 my vision started to beoome blurry. Call my doc and he told me to stop taking it. This product seems to be a 'temporary' fix. It only reduced my pink eye symptoms for a few hours. As soon as I stopped taking it, my symptoms came back full-force. Read More Read Less
