My doctor prescribed this because I get migraines and should not be taking any bc with estrogen in it. She warned me that it was not as effective as regular bc but I figured it would be better then getting a stroke in my 30's. After reading the pamphlets I found out that this is only like 1-3% less effective than traditional birth control and way more effective than condoms. After 4 months on it I...

No problems. Except a little breast tenderness.

I'm 24 years old. I was prescribed jolivette/errin because of my serious migraines. At least, almost 5 months after beginning the pill, I'm not pregnant. Though I have frequent pregnancy scares especially because of my now scarce periods. However, I have decided to come off the pill today because I am too fat for comfort. I have gained 10 pounds since March( my first month). Also, my boyfriend has noticed my frequent sad, depressed and very emotional moods. Plus, I've been sleeping a lot-- I wake up 9am-ish and I'm feeling sleepy at 1pm again. Furthermore, the acne is WAYY over the top! I have a new pimple every 2 days! no jokes! On my face, chin, neck, back, chest...I just can't take it anymore. I thought it was my food but trust me, there's nothing I'm eating now that I wasn't eating a year ago and even before. I am deciding to either go the way of ABSTINENCE or go the way of CONDOMS.Read More Read Less

DON'T DO IT!! I took this pill for 3 months and I went to the doctor for a check in.. I gained 18 pounds and my eating habits have NOT CHANGED... I started feeling extremely moody, depressed, bloated, nauseous, severe headaches & dizziness randomly during the day.. THIS IS THE WORST BIRTH CONTROL I'VE TAKEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!

I started Errin to help with a recurrent ovarian cysts and endometriosis pain. The first two weeks seemed to go well. I'm not certain whether the side effects such as fatigue and nausea were due to the pill or the cyst that was causing pain. One thing I AM certain about is that Errin made me extremely moody and depressed. And not just feeling 'blue' but feeling despondent. If you struggle with depression I would weigh the pros and cons of taking Errin. The way I was feeling frightened me so much that I discontinued this drug. Read More Read Less

I have been on this for 1 month and thought teasing bipolar disorder acting up. But I'm starting to think it's this pill! I am such a bitch and have NO PATIENCE whatsoever. I am not taking this for a week to see if this is the cause but I'm sure it probably is.

I am in my mid 40s. I have been on Errin for a year. My hair did experience loss, but it is growing back nicely. It has taken almost a year for me to notice irritability and acne setting in. I did not make the connection with the pill until reading other comments on Errin. I do not know if my period is every three weeks, four weeks, or six weeks. I do get cramps for a few days inbetween and I think I am going to get my period, but I don't. I have gained weight (20lbs) also. I don't care for that, but my blood pressure is great (estrogen made it sky rocket). Overall, I am satisfied with it. I don't always take it exactly the same time (usually within an hour of same time each day). Read More Read Less

If you have a history of depression, I do not recommend this drug. I had to discontinue use after 2 weeks due to severe depression and irritability.

I was put on this birthcontrol pill due to excessive sweating at night before my periods. I have also had irregular periods in the past and have had some heart problems.Since I have been taking Errin I feel awful..I am bloated,my mood swings are bad, I want to eat all the time. I have no energy.I am diffently asking my Dr. to switch me or take me off completely.

No problems here; been on this for about 6 months. I cannot take estrogen because of a predisposition to blood clots. I had bleeding about 2 weeks for the first two months, then my periods eventually fizzled out. No bleeding anymore! I still have mild pms symptoms every month in about the same time they would have appeared before the minipill, but just no bleeding. This is great because I went on the minipill to help with really bad mood swings and cramping. No pregnancies here, but we also use withdrawal for another layer of protection. Read More Read Less

I have taken this medication for three years due to getting blood clots in my leg. I have notice some mood swings.. but better than a baby. I have battled with acne since I stopped estrogen birth control but can't say that the pill made it worse because I went off it for three months and still had the acne. I have noticed within the last year that it gives me a thicker and more frequent discharge that I don't like:( overall I am statified but find it difficult to take at the same time everyday as my schedule is frequently changing. I still have a normal period every month but it is not worse or better than when I was on estrogen birth control. I have never noticed hair loss like other reviews have reported.Read More Read Less

I had to switch to this pill because of migraine headaches. The only issue I've had is increased oil production on my face (which I expected after switching off of an estrogen pill.) I work out regularly so weight gain was not an issue. I no longer have my period, and the frequency of my migraines has gone down significantly. The hardest thing to get used to was taking the pill at the exact same time every day, but all I did was set an alarm on my phone and after a while it just becomes habit. I'd definitely recommend this pill to anyone who is dealing with menstrual migraines. It works great. Read More Read Less

Don't take this pill I was only on the pill for six days and I blew up like a balloon in my stomach area so much that I could close my pants. I was put on it because of high blood pressure. It made my hair grow on my temples because I have male pattern baldness. It made me feel very sick that I didn't want to eat, but I still gained a ton of weight. NOT GOOD! Whoever developed this pill deserves to take it for the rest of their life and feel bloated and sick forever. I'm sticking to condoms and spermicide and using natural progestrone for my hair loss. NEVER TAKE THIS PILL PLEASE or you will be sorry!!! You retain so much water.Read More Read Less

I have been on this about 5 months and it was all ok at first till about 3 months ago I just spot for weeks on end, and then in a couple weeks will get heavy bleeding and killer cramps, the bleeding stops for a day or 2 then comes back full force and hit you like a brick, I have ruined underwear, I always feel crampy even when not bleeding. I was on Yaz for 8 years and it was amazing, didn't have a period for almost 3 years then my blood pressure shot up, so had to be switched to this horrid pill. I am gonna try to get off of it, its useless! Oh and barely ever had any pimples on Yaz now break out all the time on this pill.Read More Read Less

i started taking errin after i had my little girl 13 months ago, due to breastfeeding. first of all after giving birth i weighed 133 and after i started errin i weighted 155,even though i ate the same and was breastfeeding. second, i was so sad and depressed all the time for no reason i considered a therpist and medication. third, my face was all broke out with acne, when not before. third, after i stopped breastfeeding amonth ago i found out today that i am pregnant even though i have taken the pill every day at the same exact time, which makes me wonder if it had not been for breastfeeding it i would have been pregnant months ago!! This is the worst birth control ever!!! Read More Read Less

I have taken this for three months now after being referred to this since I suffer from migraines. It has helped incredibly with the migraines, but it has caused weight gain, and my chest, back, and chin to break out (which I have never had before).

I started the errin on April, 2012. My periods were on time and on schedule. These last 2 months I have had longer periods, between heavy and light. I have my period now, and had it since December 9th, it is now January 2, 2013. It doesn't seem to want to stop. I'm on prozac, because of the mood swings, feeling like I want to punch someone in the face and going through perimenopausal. My hair is starting to fall out and I have break outs on my face. I'm asking you for advice is anyone is listening, should I just stop the errin or continue. I take the first 3 weeks on errin and than start a new pack. Someone please give some advice.Read More Read Less

I am 20 years old, active in sex, and have tried many different birth controls. I was switched from another birth control after experiencing sharp pains in my chest. The pains still persist but thats due to another medical reason that my doctor had not paid attention to... anyways, I have not had ONE period on this mini pill, though I feel very bloated and experience minor cramps every few weeks. In the past, I have had VERY LONG periods so I was shocked (& worried I might be pregnant) when I was not experiencing periods. I am NOT pregnant & I would recommend this pill to others. Remember - everyone's body is DIFFERENT & what might work for you - won't always work well for others. But for myself, someone who has had bad experiences with other pills & especially the depo - I would give this a try.Read More Read Less

I did not have a good experience with this pill. I have not had any children so my side effects were not due to being postpartum. I've struggled with mild to moderate acne since I was about 10, and this pill caused some serious breakouts. My face and back were covered in painful acne. I also experienced some mood swings and depression. On the plus side, my sex drive was great and I did not experience any yeast infections (other bc pills have caused frequent yeast infections for me), no weight gain either. I only had two periods during the 6 months I took it, and they were very short and light. The worst part of it was that i ended up with ovarian cysts. over a year later, and i'm still dealing with these cysts, possibly facing surgery. Beware of progesterone only methods of bc as they can definitely increase your chances of developing cysts. Read More Read Less

I think the only reason this pill has so many bad reviews is a bunch of recently-pregnant hormonally out-of-whack women get prescribed it. I'm a 20 year old, active and healthy college student, and this pill has worked just fine for me! The only things I've noticed are a decrease in breast size (boooo.) and slight increase in facial acne. I don't get my period anymore which is great. I try to take the pill within the same 1-2 hour period every day, hopefully it keeps being effective for me.
