This SSRI works better for me than the others. It definitely controls my depression/anxiety disorder. Two side effects are problematic: weight gain and trouble achieving orgasm. I have found the benefits outweigh the side effects. I wish a 15-mg. tablet was available. A 10-mg dose leaves me vulnerable to depression symptoms, while a 20-mg dose is too sedating. Lexapro made me constantly nauseous and lightheaded. It also increased the number of migraines and headaches I had.

I experienced an almost immediate lifting of the dark cloud that has followed me everywhere for the last few years. I thought that it might make me zombie-like and not able to experience emotion but it did not do that at all. I have been taking Lexapro for just over 3 months and it has been a God-send. I take 20mg per day and have experienced very few side effects. When I first started taking it I had a hard time falling asleep and then once asleep had a hard time staying asleep. I would often wake up because my arms and legs moved around a lot while sleeping.
